We are less than a week away from inevitable news of offseason surgeries as 20 teams begin to pack up for the winter.

Brandon Jacobs (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=3146) and the Giants are getting a head start on things.

New York's starting running back will undergo arthroscopic surgery (http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/giants/2009/12/jacobs-to-have-season-ending-k.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+nydnrss%2Fblogs%2Fgiants+%28B logs%2FThe+Blue+Screen%29) on his knee next week, and sit out the team's season finale. Jacobs was held to one yard on six carries before leaving the team's loss to the Panthers early.

The team's offensive line shares some blame, but Jacobs did not appear to punish defenders like year's past in 2009.

His statistics dropped drastically. Despite five more carries than 2008, Jacobs finished with 835 rushing yards, and five touchdowns. Last year, he had 1,089 rushing yards with 15 scores. His yards per carry averaged fell from 5 to 3.7.

Whether knee surgery fixes Jacobs' issues next season remains to be seen. There are few players in NFL history of his size and production to compare him to.

Jacobs signed a big contract before the 2009 season and should be back in New York, paired with Ahmad Bradshaw (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=4305) again.

So what you are saying is the Giants do have a chance in this game. :laugh2:

There has to be brain tissue to scramble. It would be a tough task with Jacobs.

Any other guy in the league, my response would be "Good luck to a healthy, speedy recovery". Bot *******BrandonJacobs, to you, my friend, I am going to see what I can do about hiring the doctor to **** something up. Like... leave his scalpel in the knee... or just kill him or something.

You can't excise that which does not exist... I'll go with the proposed tongue-ectomy...

signing him to that big deal was laughable: far worse than Canty who will probably bounce back when healthy. Jacobs is a clown and probably all but done....no heart. Makes me sick they beat the Pats after the way they've acted the last two years: buncha dopes.
