in their eyes, maybe.
But they still don't award trophies for offseason champs.

No not really (seeing the CBA issues and such)

I predict 2 more years of futility, matched only by the 3 year run of futility in Dallas from 2000-2002

2012 things may turn around agian

Here's my question: The Skins' defense was undoubtedly their bright spot this year. If there was anything salvageable about Zorn's tenure, it was the growth on that side of the ball (though I ahave some serious reservations about a number of the younger players like Landry, Rodgers and Hall).

Anyway, do you think your offense has a chance to catch up and be good soon enough to where your defense is still high-caliber? Or do you fear that by the time the offense gets good, the defense will have to be rebuilt?

Your first paragraph:

The D was highly overrated. Highly the last 2 years

Yea it looked good in yards given up, but when it came to producing turnovers, sacks, and timely 4th quarter stops, it came up woefully short.

Your second paragraph, no that doesn't worry me at all. Brian Orakpo will be a force for the next decade, and many other pieces will need to be drafted over the next 2-3 years seeing that the LBs are average, and the secondary very overrated.

So in a nutshell, I don't think very much of the Redskins D as it currently is :)

The Redskins actually were not as bad as their record.

They were very competitive against some playoff teams.

(examples: Cowboys 7-6 win in which Shuisams two missed field goals would have beaten us. The Saints loss that should have been a win for the skins. I still don't know how they lost that game. The Chargers game sunday was close as well.)

I have seen worse teams than this years skins.

I think Arakpo is a future building block as well as Fred Davis. The young wide outs came on pretty good as well. They do need an overhaul on the o-line as well as running game. They also need to understand their corners are overrated.

I really hate to go nostalgic but here goes.

I still laugh my arse off when I think of the comments made after the Pats beat them 2 years ago?

Score was 52-7

Comment made by Redskins player(paraphrasing):

"Yeah we lost 52-7 but its not like they beat us bad... we made them earn every yard/TD they got"

I remember that. It was literally the funniest thing I've ever read on any message board in my life. I still chuckle out loud every time I think of it.

Sounds like something bubba would say.

Trust me, it sickens me that we suck and you all just won the division and are in the playoffs. But I think I'd have to have my man card taken away if I ran away and didn't post here until 2012 :)

Heh that Skins fan I know, believes they are going to be returning to the 97-98 Broncos. He keeps telling me how overrated Ware, Spencer, and Ratliff are. Oh and of course says Keith Brooking is all talk. Got to love the haters!

Only a complete idiot would say that...

Not one Redskins fan worth a salt thinks this is going to be a quick fix. Hopefully Snyder really meant what he said when he hired Allen, and what he said about the mistakes he's made. At this point though, I will believe it when I see it.

Yes. The Redskins are horrid. The only positive to take out of this season is hiring Bruce Allen and FINALLY being rid of Cerrato.

Yeah -- that's a pretty bad one (but, really, there are some things posted here too that are comical, to say the least...)

No one can defend the Redskins this past year. There will be those who will point to an insane number of injuries. But the Skins weren't good when they were healthy!

I am really looking forward to competent people attempting to rebuild this franchise...I hope...

If Dan Snyder backs off and just lets someone else run it then you guys could rebuild and rebuild fairly quickly, assuming the right football guys are in place.

But with Snyder I don't believe he'll really do that. He'll do it, short term, right up until it doesn't produce immediate, blazing, results and then he'll be right back to doing his thing as he's always done it.
