It's funny to see Millen giving his analysis. I can't believe he would actually give his opinion on football after how bad he ran that team into the ground.

I thought that every single week on NFLN games.

And then I saw him do a college game, and his sidekick had to remind him over and over again that they weren't playing by NFL rules.

Maybe it is the city. Detroit is one of the worst cities in the US, maybe the worst. It is nothing but a super ghetto.

No one wants to work there, let alone live there.

The players don't want to live there and it is reflected in their play on the field.

Then again, a change of scenery didn't do Roy Williams a lot of good.:rolleyes:

It's the ownership. I believe that ownership, even if it's passive, plays a huge part in a team's success because the ownership has to be good at *running* the organization. I also think that's sometimes the problem of ownership, it thinks that it can be so passive and let everybody else do the work, that it doesn't run the organization well.

This applies to about any company. Poor ownership (or poor CEO) and you're almost guaranteed to get poor results, regardless of how active or non-active the ownership is. Arthur Blake is a good example, in less than 10 years of owning the Falcons he has taken them to the NFC Championship game, and has gotten them their first back-to-back winning seasons in the NFL. Better ownership, better run organization, better results. He's more active in the football team aspect than the Ford Family is, but he's better at running the organization and that's why even though some may say he's a 'meddling owner', he gets better results than the passive owners of the Ford Family.
