ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that the Seahawks' hire of USC's Pete Carroll to be their next head coach is "looming."
According to the LA Times, the Seahawks interviewed Carroll earlier this week, and Mortensen says he has "multiple sources now confirming" that Carroll will replace Jim Mora. Seahawks beat writer Danny O'Neil reports Carroll is in the process of building a coaching staff, specifically targeting UCLA defensive coordinator DeWayne Walker. Carroll's offensive coordinator hire will have the biggest fantasy impact. Carroll is a defensive mind. Jan. 8 - 4:05 pm et

Ya know, I didn't think Pete Carroll would leave.
But last year, I was listening to someone on ESPN who said that the NCAA was getting ready to come down hard on the USC program for football violations and that Pete Carroll would leave just before this happened.
Will be interesting.

Carroll is a terrible NFL headcoach he has been at two prior stops he is a much better College HC. Seattle did not get any better they might as well have stuck with Mora

I guess Seattle will be trading for Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush in the off season. Maybe Mike Williams will get back into the league.

Mediocre is when you have the advantage of having the best recruiting class year in and year out but still get outcoached and outplayed by lesser schools in your conference.

Mediocre, really? Chow's been gone for awhile and they've had some damn good teams since then.
This year maybe, but if Sanchez had stayed as Carroll wanted, they might have won the national championship.

They had nothing before he got there, he got those kids to get excited about USC football again.
He's something like 97-19, he's 6-1 in BCS games and 7-2 in bowl games. His teams have two national championships and could easily have 2 or 3 more.

Ummm, DeWayne Walker is no longer at UCLA.
He's been the head coach at New Mexico State since a year ago. He doesn't like it here, though, and will probably bolt.

Let him go Chief. Once he's gone, order out Chinese and get the fellas together so you can figure out how to get Mike Leach in the house.

They had Leach's mentor here (Hal Mumme) and that didn't work out very well. Of course, Leach is a better coach, but ....

Will Pete Carroll make more in Seattle than his players made at USC?

The Hawks are run by a group of people in the front office taht get what they want. There is no controll from the owner (s) "these" people make things happen and don't know anything about football, see trades, deals, and coaches from the last few years. :lmao2: my wifes team is the Hawks :bang2: at least it is her home team and I get to look at the pretty mountain everyday or so

Not with that defense. Sanchez knew what was coming.
