per the cards reporter speaking on espn right now. My god it's Brett Favre part two. What an attention whore right before a huge game. Guy is a very good player, but has always been goofy IMO. As for the ballgame today.....Boldin won't play today....and the pack will roll IMO....Boldin has a high ankle sprain and knee issue...

I actually believe him more than Farve. I knew Farve wasn't going to retire either time.

k................urt. still a drama queen....that said, I hope they beat the pack. But with no Boldin, I don't see it. Woodson will be on Fitz now...and Doucet is the third WR with Breston at 2........not good IMO

Or else he thinks making the announcement will give his team a lift for some reason. Don't think it's going to help him, but this should be a good game, at least.

Well, he had a good game today- 5 touchdown passes, over 300 yards in the air.

I don't think Warner's situation is like Favre's. Maybe I'm not in the loop on Warner but I thought his retirement talk was all about nobody wanting to start him.
I think he's serious. Concussions aren't something to play with.
I also agree in thinking he's hoping for a boost from this. Not gonna happen.

The Cardinals are hoping that Warner can play as long as Matt Leinart is still in the NFL.

Warner denies retirement rumors http://theredzone.org/desktopmodules/Blog/Images/feed-icon-12x12.gif (http://nbasideline.com/BlogAdmin/tabid/59/rssid/3/Default.aspx) 1/11/2010 8:39:36 AM
Ken Somers of the Arizona Republic (http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/articles/2010/01/10/20100110spt-cardinals-kurt-warner.html) reports quarterback Kurt Warner was saying thank you, not necessarily goodbye, when he took a lap around the field at University of Phoenix Stadium and slapped hands with fans after Sunday's playoff victory over the Packers.
Warner's potential retirement became a story Sunday when ESPN reported that people close to Warner expect him to retire, unless he changes his mind.
Warner denied that he has made any plans, and the lap was not a farewell one.

Kurt is a stand up guy and does not pull crap like Favre. I know a lot of people get all over him like they do Tebow because he is openly religious.

That drama queen is one of the best to ever play the game...especially in the playoffs.
His concerns are more related to concussions...so he does have valid, family and health oriented concerns.

Well put. He wants to avoid the kind of horror that John Mackey is experiencing. He played absolutey lights out yeaterday and, whatever you think of him personally, you have to admire the focus he showed against Green Bay. As for his wife, she's stayed out of the spotlight in recent times and has focused on their personal life. He seems like a genuinely nice guy and I wish him well, except against the Cowboys.

I like Kurt. I have no problems with him. I used to think they were nuts with their overboard love of him at ESPN when he was with the Rams but I like the guy.
Hopefully everything will work out the way I'd like to see them go and we'll have Kurt here for the NFC Championship game and we can put the final nail in his career by defeating him.

So when a Dallas reporter, reports on the dispute within the Cowboys lockerroom, we respond, "What does he know? He's just making things up."
But when a Cardinals reporter says Warner wants to retire, it's gospel. LOL!
It's okay for people to have private conversations or muse about things in private. But in public, Warner has been honest. He doesn't know whether he wants to retire or continue to play. That's an honest answer, especially for a man at the age of 39.
The only drama is when the media continue to make it an issue. Let the guy decide on his own instead of asking him every press conference whether he's going to stay or go.

People get all over Tebow because of the ridiculous adoration he gets from the media.
I think it was Thom Brennamen who said something like, "If you are fortunate to have spent just five minutes with Teblow your life will have been better for it." Seriously? That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard.
That's why people don't like Teblow. Because of stuff like that.

I agree that it can get really obnoxious....but it has nothing to do with Tebow himself. He's not the one saying your life will better by just talking to him for a minute or two, it's the media doing that junk.

Double down on that. The guys story is just straight up great. Working at the friggin' grocery store? Marries a woman with a mentally retarded child - that's manning up right there. How many men would raise another mans child, especially one with so many challenges? Dude just has it right.
And he threw for 5 TDs yesterday.

That's true. The media is why people dislike him, not his religion.

Wow, some of you bringing religion and/or "liking" him into this are really reaching. I just thought it could be a distraction going into a big playoff game. You could see I was right as he only put up 45 (can't count the defensive TD at the end) against the MIGHTY 2nd ranked Pack defense!(yes, that's sarcasm)
He's nails and does have concussion issues, but I miss the old days when guys like Staubach - who also had concussion issues, just rode off into the sunset. No drama, no speculation: just did it. That's all I was saying. Now I hope they beat the Saints because I don't want to go back to N. Orleans....so I'll be rooting for the Cards for 2 weeks in a row. (hate the Pack almost as much as Philthy or the gspots)
