You are a ****ing fraud. Everyone knows you took steroids. There was no doubt at all and your half-***** admission is completely pathetic. Just stay out of the news you tool bag.

How you can say that you didn't take steroids for the performance gains and admit that you took them to recover is beyond stupid.

Shut your face and be happy that you will probably keep the tarnished records you stole while playing.

That is the part that gets me. He wants to act like taking steroids had nothing to do with his HR numbers but I don't get his logic, nor the media that I have seen so far, not question him about how he could get some of those numbers if he is not even healthy enough to play.

In other words his excuse is he only took them so he could get healthy and play. Hence that he is saying he could not play unless he took them...so if he can not play there is no way he could hit some of those HRs.

I can understand him saying he had natural talent to hit the ball as he did as a youth and a younger adult but to kind of basically say it had nothing to do with his numbers when he could not play, by his own logic, without taking them...is just stupid.

I don't know if the media will take him to task over that failed logic. His whole thing just screams selfishness to me. I doubt he would even have came forward if he was not going for a job with a team.

Also you now have to look back at all the players and media that basically lambasted Jose and his book saying he was just making stuff up and only wanted attention. Maybe he did want attention and money but it seems like things have came out that support his side of the story from his book.

Ahh...don't know why I even care as I can't stand baseball but it is just annoying that some of these people just think they can say I am sorry about telling lies and half truths and everything will be OK...sadly for many it will be ok.

I even heard someone say well...he did not lie when he talked in the hearings but I was thinking...he may have not technically lied but he sure did not tell the truth and flat out refused to answer a yes or no to the questions.

Coming half clean is dumb. Might as well admitted everything.

I used to chase balls and play catch w/ Mark back in 82. He came up to play ball in the summers and the Pilots GM was my neighbor and Mark stayed w/ Ron most summers. Im sad to see what has become of him but back then Mark was a great guy and a real pleasure to be around.

In 84 it was the same w/ Randy Johnson. Those were great times on Glenn-Don Circle when I was growing up. :D

To a kid, it never got bigger than those guys.

Its clear now that a whole lot of players were roided up back then. So really coming down on McGuire is kind of stupid. The whole Game allowed this and knew it was happening and they ALL turned their backs on it. Owners, Commissioner, Union, Players- and lets face it the fans did not care.

Whether other players, owners or commissioners did it or knew it does not take away from Mark doing it and then either telling half truths or lying about it even today.

I found it equally pathetic that LaRussa said he never knew about it until mark came out about it the other day. Give me a break.

But again it does not take away from the Mark.

Responsibility does not go away with the "but everyone else was doing it" excuse. And he has used that excuse to a degree when he mentions he wished he never played in the steroid era which is even more pathetic considering he was one who helped create the steroid era.

Not trying to defend McGuire, but he claims God has given him a body to hit home runs. Starting in Pee Wee league all the way thru college he has always hit more home runs than any of the other kids. Hitting 49 home runs as a rookie is no joke either.

Why is this even news?

I'm more PO'ed that the media is taking more time to talk about an obvious steroid user as oppose to talking more about the NFL Playoffs.

I truly believe baseball would be almost dead now if not for Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa.

Must be why I hate them so much ..... they should have let it die.

Yes but you can not use your god given talent to hit home runs if you are not healthy enough to play. He said he used steroids in order to get healthy and play.

So again...it helped his HR numbers because it helped him get healthy to play and without being healthy enough to play there is no way to get home runs.

So lets say he hit 50 home runs in games that over the years he would not have been able to play in due to health but did play because he took steroids to get him healthy. Those 50 home runs were gotten because he took steroids.

It does not mean it gave him the ability to hit faster, see better, hit further...however it did give him the ability to come off of injuries.

Many of the things that he said in that book back then seemed incredible, but so many things have come out since then that support what he wrote 100%.

So much irony with Jose Conseco. He helped usher in the era of steroids, yet he was one of the biggest influences on forcing baseball to clean itself up after being called a liar to his face by so many in the game.

Why, because he wrote a book?

He did steroids just like the rest of the people in your quote.

No one is more or less to blame in baseball for what happened. As I pointed out EVERYONE is responsible. Players. Owners. Union. Commissoner. AND the fans because the obvious evidence was there and it was ignored or covered up by EVERYONE including most of the sports writers. So to dump on Clemens. Sosa, Bonds and McGuire WITHOUT jumping all over everyone else involved is total hypocrisy. NO one in baseball has the right to point fingers at anyone else because they were ALL DIRTY.

Fans? How are fans responsible for steroids?

Actually, I don't think fans care.

MLB is making more money then ever.

I know I don't care.

Fans knew there was steroids and did not care which just enabled the rest. So yes they ALL have responsibility. For those acting outraged NOW who were fans back then its a joke.

What would expect the fans to do? Quit going to games? Boycott baseball all together because of some famous player on another team is using?

I'll give you that fans didn't care. There are some who did and some who still do but the everyday Joe probably didn't care. That doesn't make the fans responsible.

We all know there is roids and performance enhancers in the NFL, are we responsible?

The NFL from most appearences has tried and succeeded in knocking down roid use. BaSEBALL DID NOT CARE. And YES I blame the fans too. Especially so much of the false outrage now. Yes the fans can have an impact if they want to- they did not.
