From staff reports Apparently someone forgot to tell Texas that Christmas comes in December -- not a few days before National Signing Day.
After Plano West defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat announced Friday morning that he will play for the Longhorns (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Texas_Longhorns), yet another prized recruit -- linebacker Jordan Hicks from Ohio -- also said he's headed for Texas.
The Jeffcoat-Hicks one-two punch could push Texas to the top of the 2010 recruiting rankings by next week.
Hicks, like Jeffcoat, is an elite athlete and one of the top-rated defensive players in this year's class. Hicks won the Dick Butkus (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Dick_Butkus) award, which is presented to the nation’s top high school linebacker, and finished his senior season with 95 tackes (13 tackles for loss).

I am a bit disappointed with their recruitment of OL.....only 2....Though I am pleased with the two they got. I just wish they could have added a couple more, including at least 1 OG.

Also, they have not done a whole lot to fill the TE position. Now that Buckner is gone, there is a definite opening. Yet, there was not one TE commit this entire offseason.

Yup, I came into this thread to post that Jaxon had given the Horns his commitment... seems they also signed a very highly regarded tight end out of El Paso, and eleven others... and they might have some more early commitments in a coupla weeks, as they host another round of prospects on the 27th...

I can see it now-- five years down the road, Case and Jaxon make up for the national championship Colt and Jordan got screwed out of by the fates... :D
