Hickson was playing good ball this year. I don't think it was necessary to trade him. Howq old is Amare?

Interesting move and will be fun to watch the Cavs down the stretch.
What are the Suns going to do with Z? :laugh2:

I agree, but he's no Amare.
He's 27 years old.
Its Hickson for Amare straight up because Z will most likely be bought out and signed back with the Cavs.
Laker fans better not ***** about this move since they aquired Pau in this same exact fashion.

I would take more stock in the report if it wasn't from Chris Broussard. Slate you probably have better track record in predictions than this guy. The guy is just awful. He once reported Kobe Bryant to the Knicks was a done deal.
According to Heat fans this is all BS, and PHX is just trying to get Miami to include Beasly. 90% of all trade rumors are dead by the time the media gets wind of it.

Amares' good for 20+ PPG , 10+RPG.

Its a helluva trade for the Cavs, that's for sure, if it does go down. I didn't think Bron-Bron was going to leave Cleveland anyway. But this will just be additional incentive for him to stay.

If it is a "done deal" there would be some kind of article on it, I haven't seen one.
Heat and 76ers are still gunning for him.
If all the Suns get is Ilgauskas (who theyll buy out) and Hickson and a first I will be freakin pissed. That is a garbage trade.

Amare made millions of Spurs fans smile with his utter stupidity in the postseason....
First, he gets fouled, then has the arrogance to do push ups before shooting the free throws......all he did was miss both free throws afterwards.
Then, he leaves the bench and gets suspended in a crucial playoff series.
His many mental mistakes have made it easy to stick him with the name "Amare Stupidmire"

Only a stone MORON would label LeBron the best player ever at this point in his career... he hasn't done jack yet; to be the best ever, you have to be able to point to multiple NBA championships won, like Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan...
To even attempt to mention LeBron James in the same breath as those players is blasphemy, and proof that you haven't been a basketball fan for very long... you probably never even saw half of those players play (in fairness, I never saw Russell play either, but I sure did see the others on that list)...

This Amare trade was such a "done deal" that the Cavs acquired Jamison today.......;
In the Antawn Jamison trade, the Clippers are also involved. The Cavs get Jamison and guard Sebastian Telfair, the Clippers get Drew Gooden, and the Wizards get Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Al Thornton, Brian Skinner and a Cavs first-round pick.

Jamison Headed To The Cavs
Cleveland (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=cle), Washington (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=was) and the Los Angeles Clippers (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=lac) have agreed to a three-team deal that will land Antawn Jamison (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=385) with the Cavaliers as LeBron James (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=1966)' new sidekick instead of Amare Stoudemire (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=1727), according to NBA front-office sources.
http://a.espncdn.com/i/headshots/nba/players/65/385.jpg
Jamison
Sources told ESPN.com that the deal will also send Zydrunas Ilgauskas (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=362)' $11.5 million expiring contract and a first-round draft pick from Cleveland to Washington.
The deal also calls for the Wizards to receive Al Thornton (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=3237) from the Clippers, sources said, with L.A. getting forward Drew Gooden (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=1711), whom Washington acquired in last week's trade with Dallas.
Besides Jamison, Cleveland will also acquire Clippers guard Sebastian Telfair (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2417).
Jamison left the arena in Washington before the Wizards' game against the Timberwolves on Wednesday.
After long-running trade talks with Washington and Phoenix, Cleveland opted for the Jamison deal, leaving the Miami Heat (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=mia) as the only known suitor for Stoudemire in advance of Thursday's 3 p.m. trading deadline.
The Cavs have been chasing Jamison since last season and ultimately preferred this trade in part because they did not have to surrender blossoming young forward J.J. Hickson (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=3437). The Suns were demanding Hickson along with Ilgauskas' expiring salary for Stoudemire.
Washington relented on its insistence for Hickson because the trade brings more deck-clearing payroll and luxury-tax relief after last week's deal with Dallas that sent Caron Butler (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=1705), Brendan Haywood (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=1000) and DeShawn Stevenson (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=808) to Dallas.

Chuckle... you roll with the punches well, Slate... never mind that you started this thread telling us that Amar'e to the Cavs was a "done deal", and your "done deal" didn't happen...
Seems you had a case of premature posting yesterday... :D
As a Wizards fan, at least they got ONE player they'll probably keep past this year... they apparently wanted Al Thornton the year they drafted Nick Young, but he was grabbed a coupla picks before they got on the clock...
I don't expect Ilgauskas to ever wear a Wizards uniform, and he'll probably be back with Cleveland in 30 days...
I just hope they use the Cavs first round pick wisely... perhaps package it with their own lottery pick to move up some (if they don't do well in the lottery), perhaps package it with pick 34 to move up to around 25 or 26... there's one player I really like who's likely to be on the board in the late first round, Jarvis Vornado from Mississippi State... the kid's averaging almost 5 blocks per game...
Let them luck out with an early lottery pick, add either John Wall or Evan Turner (or even Cole Aldrich), then pick up Vornado in the late first, and let the rebuilding begin...

great game last night. Melo and Lebron put on a great show. Lebron has to stay balanced when shooting his jump shot. too often he leans to one side and I think that's a big reason why he misses a lot of clutch jumpers.
It was.
Melo got the best of LeBron.
He makes alot of clutch jumpers too. Sometimes you just miss.

this is true. Melo schooled him on a spin move to put the Nuggets up by 3 with 30+ seconds left in the 4th and the King came back down and nailed a 3 in Melo's face to tie it up. Lebron should be a better shooter right now but is for sure behind guys like Kobe and Melo when it comes to jumpers. If he can stay balanced and have the same motion like Melo and Kobe I believe he can be right there with them as far as shooting goes. that's the only knock on King James that I can see.

Ya it's his only weakness but he's getting alot better at his shooting.
When you average 30 a game, I think your doing alright. He stays within his game for the most part.

It's nothing to do with owned. You're so impossible to have a reasonable discussion with that it's not worth getting into it. All I was doing was highlighting how oblivious you are.

Even with NY's ability to get 2 max free agents in the offseason, I don't think LeBron leaves Cleveland. Bosh has already stated he doesn't want to be a second fiddle and has made a lot of pro-Toronto comments currently.
Miami, I believe, has the cap room for a max free agent, plus they have Wade and Beasley they can sell.... and Miami. I don't think Wade leaves either.
I doubt Bron bolts for NY to be by himself. Cleveland can offer him the most and he has a good core to contend with.
I think the big 3 stay put.

As of halftime, Jamison looks like c.r.a.p. tonight, 0-8, 2 pts, 3 rebounds, 1 steal and has been blocked 4 times.
