not that were intrested, but there is going to be alot of decent veteran talent out their. I really think we can tweak our roster with a few of these veterans and we won't have to break the bank to do it.

I agree.
Not that Lito would be a good fit here, but he's just an example with what could be had this offseason.

He'll be 29 in April and had 8 passes defensed last season. I don't know anything else about him or why he was released.
I'm in favor of going with younger guys through the draft.

I wouldn't mind having him transition to FS for us if he's willing. It'll give us a chance to redshirt whoever we draft for a year or two.

What did the Eagles get as the conditional pick for Sheppard? I know they received a 5th last year, but wondering what this year's compensation ended up being.

Looks like maybe a 4th this year.

1 year too late. I wanted us to go after Lito Sheppard last season when Jerry brought in Pacman Jones instead. Sheppard was disgruntled and the Eagles were willing to move him for next to nothing.

Well now he'll move for nothing at all other than a small contract.

I agree, Rod Woodson did it. Many CBs late in their career can make good safeties. I would say Newman could as well, but I think Newman is too small to be a safety.

Lito Sheppard is small. 5-10 195. He has never been a physical corner. But he has been a very good corner. Multiple probowls. Not sure what happened last season. But for cheap he would be a great nickle corner. You can never have enough talent at that position. If Newman goes down again i would feel better about a 28 year old CB that has been to multiple probowls than Scandrick.
I just read he was due a 10 million option bonus if they kept him. It seems like his contract was written in a way that they had no choice but to cut him.

Would be nice if we could go 4 deep with him on the squad along with our top 3 from last season. It'd be a luxury.

He sort of reminds me of Aaron Glenn.

Hopefully he goes to the AFC. He seems to always have a pic against us in every game.

Out of curiosity...how many have done it? Other than Rod Woodson I can't really think of any who were worth a darn.

Every time the Eagles get rid of someone, he never has the same career.

I suspect he will end up back with the Eagles and play pretty good.

No thanks if he couldn't perform in Rex Ryan's defense then that scares me!

Did Renfro go from CB to safety?

He is a Cowboys Killer. Always gets a pick against us when he played for the Eagles. I'd like him here but I don't think he'd want to come here to be the 4th CB when he could still probably start for a team.

corey chavous was a better safety than cb but the numbers are far and few between.
its a real challenge to tackle well enough.
safeties have to come up and take on rbs regularly and without the sideline most times.
