Cowboys face competition for Holland -- 11:48 a.m.
The Dallas Cowboys are showing some interest in re-signing offensive lineman Montrae Holland (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/montrae-holland/140817), but the Washington Redskins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also in the mix, according to an NFL source.

The eighth-year veteran, who is an unrestricted free agent, was traded to the Cowboys from the Denver Broncos back in 2008 for a fifth-round pick in this year's NFL Draft. Since joining the Cowboys, he has started in just two games and appeared in seven as a reserve after being a 16-game starter for the Broncos in 2007, so a fresh start with another team might benefit the -6-foot-2, 326-pound lineman.

A fourth-round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints, Holland has appeared in 75 games and started 48, including all 16 during the 2007 season with the Broncos.

I can't believe Shanny would sign him again

I hope he does

Holland's a serviceable backup, but in the event he gets signed away it forces us to bring in more developmental players.

Holland couldn't get in game shape.

He then went out with an injury in his first start.

Serviceable! I'd trust him in there more than Cory Procter, is what I'm trying to say :)

Never understood all the Cory Proctor hate.

He wasn't a 1st rd draft pick.

He didn't get the QB killed.

He didn't cost the team any games.

He did as much as anyone could expect for a backup.

Why all the hate?
