I think I missed the first few shows for whatever reason and did not want to jump in after it had already started.

I really enjoyed the first 5 seasons, then I just got extremely sick of it.

Tried again to get into it this season and only made it to about the third episode. Eventually hearing Jack Bauer scream "Tell me where the device is!!" for the 600th time made me throw in the towel.

Good riddance.

Yeah, the first few seasons were fairly good. After that, it was just tough to ride the same theme. I mean how many times can a guy save the world? Plus the show stood out early on for not trying to suck up to certain groups (basically the ones who say there is a guy standing in fron of you with bomb, but you must ask permission or mother may I before trying to stop him from killing everyone on in site. :)
Now it's a little more politically correct....so the edge is gone.

It had its cycle...time to go.
