A league source told WEEI.com on Tuesday that the Patriots, who hold the 22nd overall pick in next month’s NFL Draft, “love” Penn State defensive tackle Jared Odrick. The 6-foot-5, 304-pound Odrick played the 3-technique under Penn State defensive line coach Larry Johnson’s 4-3 but figures to play the 5-technique end role in the Patriot’s 3-4 scheme. Odrick is a projected first-round pick and has drawn comparisons to former Patriot defensive end Richard Seymour. Whether or not the Patriots have held a private workout with Odrick has yet to be confirmed. For WEEI.com’s spotlight on Odrick, click here.

Be a good fit. I figured they'd pick him or Wooten up with their 4 picks in the first two rounds.

There was a SI snippit a while back, maybe 2 months ago, that said Odrick was exactly the type of player New England likes.

This is probably the surest thing come draft day.

nope, they pick football players, not numbers and sexy names. Great pick for them or for anyone.

There could be a possibility that NE drafts Dez Briant and then trades with us(they have 3 2nd round picks) for our 27th to draft Odrick

That's a possibility. Do the Pats ever wheel and deal on draft day? I didn't think they did but they need to rebuild some key positions desperately this year. Bryant, Odrick, and a linebacker in the second would be a very good option for them.

I'd be stunned if the Pats picked a guy with as many red flags as Bryant.

Yep, only behind Dan Williams going to the Dolphins.
