Don't look now, but sweet-swingin', 50 yr old, "Boom Boom" Couples, just took the lead with -6 at 17.

I watched the par 3 contest yesterday from start to finish. THAT is a cool event. All the kids, family members caddying is a hoot.

Plus Palmer, Player and Nicholas in the same 3-some, was fun to see too.

Now that is awesome. Had I known that I might have watched some of this.

I hope he gets heckled like crazy! He has always been a rick with a p, he should be heckled 24-7.

I bet some of the other golfers would love to heckle him.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I've read that for the most part he's gotten a warm reception.

It also doesn't hurt that he's playing well.

why would it be bursting my bubble?

Just because I think it would be hillarious if people were breaking his chops?

the guy got caught doing some hillarious stuff, I just want the funny that is in there somewhere.

Most people that go to the Masters actually have respect for the game and know heckling is a pathetic thing to do.

That 60 year old almost won the British Open last year. If Tom Watson is keeping the ball in the fairway and is sinking his putts Watson can give them all a run for their money. Same was with Couples.

Yep. People are actually rooting pretty hard for him at Augusta.

Golf isn't a heckler's sport - it's professional. That's why most knuckle-dragger types scream "I hate golf! It's boring! Who watches golf!?"

They're the same guys you see passing out at 11:45AM in the parking lot of Cowboys Stadium for a 4:15 kickoff game.

Jim Furyk's hole in one was so awesome - the look on his face was priceless...he was like "what...?"

His son getting excited about the hole in one and jumping up and down was cute, too.

Love to see the old guys doing good but that 60 year old is walking up and down hills this time and Couples' back is sure to give up, hope not but we'll see.

Yeah I was talking about football, but if you ever get a chance to go to a golf event, the nightlife can get pretty crazy.

Definitely not somewhere to be if you've got a little Tiki Barber or a little Jesse James in your blood and you're a married man.

Single man? Awesome time.

Mickelson played some unbelievable scramble golf. He was all over the map on his drives for about 4 or 5 holes but he just make shots. Some of the best gold I've ever seen to save. Congratulations Lefty. Way to go.

tiger on the other hand came off as a total d-bag in his interviews after his round. I hope he NEVER wins another major

This.

Never liked Tiger. The only guy I'd have rather seen take it today over Phil was Couples.

Tiger is a POS, and having him hold all of golf's major records and accomplishments would be very unfortunate. He couldn't hold Jack's or Arnie's jock straps in damn near anything life has to offer outside of golf.

I have been a big Phil Mickelson fans for years and was happy for him and his family yesterdays. As for Tiger I have nothing bad to say about him the man is a great player and his success has been big for the PGA and the men who play it. Tiger is a big reason why the purse in these events are as high as they are. Tiger brings viewership to the tour and every golfer out there knows this which is why they have been alot more supportive of him than some of the fans.

Without a doubt.

Tiger has been HUGE for the sport. I don't think anyone could question that. However, its that impact on the sport which has brought it to a level never before seen in this country that is responsible for people turning a blind eye to the truth for so long. He's always been an *******, but its just now that the media and the sport itself are allowing it to be noted. FTMP.

I don't think I'd even have a problem with him if he'd been subjected to this scrutiny all along....it was more or less the idolization by everyone that drove me nuts. Anyway, I'm glad people can now see that he's not perfect, and that in fact, he's FAR from it.

Then blame the media, the person can't control how the media puts them on a pedestal. Tiger screwed up no doubt but that is between him and his wife and has nothing do to with anyone else. How would you like it if people got involved with your relationship with your wife or girl friend?

Face it, it has nothing to do with anyone but them. As for his temper no doubt he has one and that is in large part because of the extreme pressure he puts on himself to win which he expects every time he is on the course.

For me I have always seen Tiger as a person who happens to be a great golfer and who brings excitement to the game, outside of that I don't know much about him until these affairs took place.

I do know he has also given a lot back to many through the Tiger Woods foundation which he has been actively involved with not just money but time. So you see the bad and the good as far as I'm concerned the bad should not erase the good or vice versa

*Sigh*

I'm not blaming anyone. If I were, I could just as easily blame the countless idiots that listened to the media in their adoration of Tiger....the ones that buy anything Nike makes, the ones that own 3 Red Soxs jerseys and 4 Yankees hats, the ones that have likely never played golf more than twice in their lives, and the ones that have probably never watched an entire round of golf on television or in person.

I couldn't care less about Tiger's latest indiscretions. Seriously.

I'm simply calling it how I see it. Tiger is an *******. He's a self-absorbed egomaniac, and having him represent a gentleman's game like golf is, while profitable, very wrong.

I'd much rather see golf retain it's dignity than become a media whoring sport held hostage by the goings on of one person. Golf deserve a better ambassador than Tiger Woods.

Will it happen, not likely. Just saying.

Tiger is the biggest crybaby in golf right now. he hits a bad shot and you can count on him throwing clubs and dropping cuss words. you dont see anybody do that on a repeated basis like woods. he told everybody that he was going to change his ways on the golf course. that lasted all of 2 days.

He kept it under control for the most part he hit some bad shots he is not going to be singing and dancing. He was more talkative with the guys he was playing with during the round with Matt Kutcher on day 1 and KJ in all 4 rds which Tiger normally in the past would not talk to those he was playing with.
