How convenient.

Do you mean because it's the year after Tebow leaves?

Do you mean because it's the year after Tebow leaves?

Probably so.

I don't see what it hurts as long as it's not offensive.

Yeah, no doubt this has been discussed before now. Just seems fitting that they now ban it after one of their poster boys who wrote all over his stickers left.

They probably wanted to do this long ago, but didn't want to deal with the fallout from being accused of being anti-religion. I still think that Tebow and his "messages" in particular is what spurned this action.

I would agree.

They have also passed a rule that will take away touchdowns if the player dives into the endzone with no one around him. This used to just be a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty assessed after the TD. Now they will not count the score and place the ball at the 15 yard line.

I hate when players dive into the endzone when they don't have to like Reggie Bush does all of the time. Still I don't think you take away the TD. That is dumb, but it will probably work to curtail this from happening.

Tebow wasn't the only one who was putting messages on his eyeblack.

messages such as references to Biblical scripture that Houston Cougars quarterback Case Keenum wore under his eyes last season (http:// .com/yjelpt7).

UH's Case Keenum was doing it as well. He's just not as well known.

Doubtful that he too can make your life infinitely better in just a 10 minute conversation.

That's kind of the point. Tearbow was on TV *ALL THE TIME*. Ergo, poster boy.

http://blogs.chron.com/cougars/2010/02/ncaa_rules_committee_says_no_t_1.htmlThis has been going on for years. Reggie Bush did it at USC, and I'm sure he wasn't the first. The NCAA doesn't do anything about it until Tebow graduates. Not saying Keenum wasn't a part of it, but Tebow was on National television every week and a Heisman candidate for 3 years.

If you want to do something important, start writing and enforcing rules that penalize coaches for NCAA violations.

But instead, they worry about trivial eyeblack messages?

Get a life, NCAA.

i think it may have more to do with the fallout from ohio state QB terrelle pryor supporting vick on his eyeblack
