I've seen this as a tongue in cheek response in several threads.
I don't get the inside joke.
Could someone be a princess and explain?

More than anything, THAT is why people hate America. And why I LOVE it.
EDIT: Oh, and I would imagine this thread doesn't last throughout the morning. Just a guess though.

Could someone be a princess and explain?I think that it's a sarcastic play on the ramped up patriotism that occurred after 9-11/during the Iraq war.

I am just saying this to give you what it means. There is no need to go further with it in the discussion since it would lead to political arguments.
The whole thing started with members of both parties using it to try and make the other side look bad.
If one party did not agree with another one concerning issues they would throw out the lame Why do you hate America line.
Since most people saw through that lame political tactic they took it and ran with it to use as a joke.
I use it at work or at home if someone is complaining or something I will just say...Why do you hate America and laugh at it.

Okay . . . so it's a jab at the old political forum.
I never spent much time there, but I saw the one-liner in the Daily and Fan Zone.
Now it makes sense.
Moderators, you have my blessing to delete this thread as you deem neccessary. ;)

I never understand when people are like, this is why people hate America. Of course, you have to be a big fat fatty to eat that but its not like a pre-requisite or anything.

It may be that people here are just now picking up on it, but honestly, I don't recall even seeing it here recently. Not sure how you've never heard it.

I use it on the board on occasion but not in a political sense.
If I see someone complaining for whatever reason I use it as a joke at times.
Say they are complaining about not taking o-linemen...I would just post, Why do you hate america as a joke.
I know I used it in one of the threads yesterday or earlier this week.

I love america...Burm and the Canadian are the ones who hate america.
Wait...that sounds like a good title for a new show...instead of jake and the fatman or Bj and the bear it could be...Burm and the Canadian. :laugh1:

Cross border romances are always doomed to conflict; the differing cultures, - guns and cologne anyone? - styles and ideologies - highlights and hardhats, etc, all make for a compelling tale.
One man is not enough for canadianboysfan ...... he needs a little on the side.
An even more compelling twist. A cross border love triangle.

I hate America, but I love the U.S.A.
I love America but I can understand why people hate us. For many reasons:
1. They're jealous of our success and wealth
2. We're extremely hypocritical. We preach equality and yet for the most part it's not practiced. We call ourselves the land of the immigrant and claim we're the melting pot but there is a great portion of us that don't want any melting.
3. We meddle in other countries and their civil affairs. We attempt to impose the ideal of democracy on other countries.
4. We think we're better than everyone else. We believe America is everything and are extremely proud/cocky about it and other people know that.
Those are the ones that immediately pop into my mind. Don't get me wrong I love America, was born an American. I've just been to many other countries in my life and that's why they hate us.

And that is ok, maybe they would like reasons we don't like them. :laugh2:
