Great movie. As soon as I hear john williams music I am a kid again.
here were the trailers for the movie, it is amazing how different trailers are made today and how differently a trailer for a darker movie like the empire would be today.

The announcer in the original trailer sounds like something out of a gameshow.

Never saw it. Never saw Star Wars either. Never saw ET either.
Space and Sci-Fi just don't do anything for me.

Excellent film. Star Trek is still infinitely superior, however. Burm would agree.:p:

Same. Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien, etc . . . they've never interested me in the least.
But they've certainly spawned devout followers.
Out of curiousity, is there ever a date associated with Star Trek? Just wondering because I find it funny how older movies portrayed the future. Twilight Zone especially . . . I just watched one the other day where people were living on Mars in the year . . . 1997! LOL
And lets not forget Back to the Futures flying cars of 2000!

Yes Yes Yes we know you two like movies like Sisters waiting to exhale while wearing the traveling chocolate yaya pants and the like.
But this is a man thread so back off.

OS-era occurs in the 23rd century, and TNG-era occurs in the 24th century.

I don't know what OS-era or TNG-era means. But I get the idea that we are still several centuries away.

OS stands for Original Series.
TNG stands for The Next Generation.

ESB was the best movie of all the Star Wars films. Unfortunatly it took Lucas four films to figure that out. Or maybe he just got tired.
Both Star Trek and Star Wars were revolutionary for their time. At this point though, their nostalgia value is the biggest draw for me.

Have you seen those Youtube vids where some guy from Milwaukee absolutely shreds the first two prequels? Not to be missed.

From what I hear, "girly guys" are those who loved watching Brady Quinn and thought he would amount to something in the NFL. :)
