Anyone know what Kobe did during 2005-2007?
Ya me either.
Point is you need help in the NBA. I think it's pretty comical that the same people calling LeBron "Lechoke" were the same people thinking that Kobe couldn't win without Shaq or whining that he needed help.
Kobe didn't even get past the 2nd round during and they scraped and clawed to get the 8th seed. Why did he get a free pass? He wasn't even the best player on the team when he won those 3 rings.
But I thought Kobe was so good? Let's face it, he didn't accomplish anything with that sorry roster.
Whether LeBron stays in Cleveland or goes somewhere else, he's gunna have another superstar with him. Then it will be a fair playing field.

And David Robinson. I know he was at the tail end of his career but it still gave them the twin towers.
Plus Pop is the best coach in the league.
I wouldn't say Duncan did it himself but he's the closest to say so.

Does Lebron have guys who average that or better now?

He was still a pretty dominant force on defense..there's more to the game of basketball than offense.
They won those rings because of their lock down defense.
Not to mention championship experience...the intangibles.

So basically he won with a bunch of roleplayers and a good scheme.

This is what happens when you pound everybody over the head with King James for an entire year, only to watch him get smoked in the playoffs.
Gonna be a long off season.

No one wins on their own. No one.
Not even Tim Duncan.
Not Michael Jordan.
Not Magic.
Kobe didn't and Lebron won't either. It simply doesn't happen.

duncan was pretty damn close to winning that championship singlehandedly, ginobili was just a rookie role player, parker was nonexistent in the playoffs (hence the reason for steve kerr playing so much in game 6 of the WCF and speedy claxton in the finals) david robinson was a shell of himself, he wasnt much better than kevin willis at that point. i mean come on, we had danny ferry, steve smith, and steve kerr on that team!!! the second best player in the playoffs that year was stephen jackson, who at that point was not much more than a spot up three point shooter getting wide open looks because of duncan. here is duncan's stat line from game 6 of the finals he had 21 points, 20 rebounds 10 assists and 8 blocks!!! he broke the record for most blocks in a series in 6 games! for the series, Duncan averaged 24.2 points, 17.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and a record 5.3 blocks a game!! just because he didnt block the ball into the upper deck (he would instead block it and posses it) or throw down thunderous dunks he didnt get the credit he deserved. if you take out duncan and play lebrons team without him the cavs would destroy that spurs team, not even close. Duncan won that championship as singlehandedly as a championship could be won in recent memory

So I ask again...
What did Kobe do without Shaq and Pau?
Kobe shipped Shaq out to prove he can do it himself. What did he do by himself?
What happened when he got Pau? AKA a dominant 7 footer.
Anyone see the common denominator here?
Just more ownage to chew on. I'll be back on tommorrow.

Is it just me or is this thread very Eagles fan-like in mentality.
Like the Lakers or hate them, where I learned math this is not disputable.
16 > 0
You want to take away the titles the Lakers won before Cleveland had a team in 1970? Okay.
11 > 0
Advancing to the Conference Finals > Losing in the Conference Semi Finals.
Two straight years they have the NBA's best record and have not played for the title.
I dunno, this all seems rather green eyed jealousy pathtic in nature. Maybe that is why the Eagles wear green, it matches their jealousy.

Kobe did the same thing Lebron did without role players. He just averaged more points a game. Kobe could win or at least compete for the scoring title with Lebron but he now has players to dish it out to because he's a team player. Gimme Kobe in the 4th quarter all day over Lebron, whom Im a big fan of cuz i live so close by. Its not even close as of this year and prolly the next 2 years. Kobes the best closer in the game. The Mariano Rivera of Basketball. I think Lebron will get there eventually but right now its not even debatable.

AND Cleveland has done everything possible IMO to get the players around Lebron in order to be successful and they have in the regular season but for some reason they cant get over the hump in the playoffs similar to our beloved Dallas Cowboys. JJ does everything he can but come playoff time, we cant compete for a title for some reason.

ROTFLMAO... you keep on making excuses for the object of your unnatural lust, Slate...
Meanwhile, the rest of us recognize that he was as responsible as anybody for the Celtics beating the Cavs...
On the season, he averaged 29.7 points per game, against the Celtics that was down to 26.8...
On the season, he shot 47.5 per cent from the field, against the Celtics that was down to 44.7 per cent...
On the season, he shot 33.3 per cent from 3 point range, against the Celtics that was down to 26.9 per cent...
On the season, he averaged 3.3 turnovers per game, against the Celtics that was up to 4.5 per game...
And in those last 3 losses, things got REALLY brutal-- we're talking 21.3 points per game, 34.0 per cent from the field, 15.4 per cent from 3 point range, and 6.3 turnovers per game...
Yeah, Slate, LeBron choked... big time... it's really weak of you to try to lay that farce off on his supporting cast... it looked to me like he just quit when the Celts won game 4, and didn't bother showing up for the last 2 games...
We were indeed all witnesses, and what we witnessed was some pretty poor play by the league's supposed MVP...
Whether LeBron stays in Cleveland or goes somewhere else, he's gunna have another superstar with him. Then it will be a fair playing field.
Gee, that sounds a lot like what you were saying this time last year-- "wait till next year"...

And he had 15 total pts. 9 of those from the FT line. Pathetic.

LOL because it was too easy. Paul Pierce averaged way less in the Cavs series than he did the season.
I suppose he choked too!!?
And you're stats had like 3 less points,2 less rebounds, one more turnover..between regular and postseason stats. LOL OMGSZ what a choker!!

You're a joke lol
Dude, the Lakers got beaten down by 40 ****ing points and Kobe scored on 30% of his shots while taking 8 more shots than LeBron. LeBron couldn't make 4 out of 8 more shots?
You asked a question and I answered it. Sorry there's not a game where Kobe went exactly 3-14. He took 8 more shots, AKA more opportunities to MAKE more FG's.
Sorry you can't handle this beatdown peppylaw.
