Look there may have been something going on with Irvin and Monk
but it certainly wasn't Michael's fault that Monk was not voted in..
I don't understand it... not one little bit
but hey maybe you have to be REALLY REALLY stupid to "get it"
But anyway Canton will never see my dollar...
Hey Canton KMA:moon:

there's another thread with this but here goes:
Bob Hayes, Cliff Harris, Rayfield Wright, Irvin, Chuck Howley, Drew Pearson
I'd also argue that Charlie Waters and Harvey Martin deserve strong consideration
you can bet Irvin's sub wont be the last for the Cowboys...I can easily see Darren Woodson, Jay Novecek and probably Mark Stepnoski never going in...hell we'll probably see arguments by some of the hall of dung voters that Aikman shouldnt go in on the first ballot

If Aikman doesn't go in on the first ballot, I think I really will kill someone.
The HOF is really such a scam.

Football fans cannot take the HOF seriously when they leave out a player like Bob Hayes. He changed the game!
I am serious...there is a Cowboys bias when it comes to these voters. There is no other explanation. :angry2:

We NEED to get to the real ROOT issue here... does the press have its finger in picking who goes into the Hall! The Commissioner needs to overhaul how the players are voted in! Time to fix this sh*t.

You bet it is...
but what system would be fair and equitable for the players

Gotta love Harvey Martin - my top 3 players all time. He certainly deserves consideration.
Harvey Martin was chosen by the Dallas Cowboys in the 3rd round of the 1973 NFL Draft. Harvey was a small defensive lineman out of East Texas University (now Texas A&M University at Commerce). Harvey came into the league when Defensive Ends were not expected to put much pressure on the QB, He changed that notion and how! Harvey Martin was a 4 time Pro Bowler and was co-MVP of Super Bowl XII with Randy White. He was NFL Defensive player of the year in 1977 when he recorded 20 QB sacks. Martin led the Cowboys in sacks 7 of his 11 seasons and finished his career as the Cowboys all time QB sack leader with 114. Harvey is easily considered the greatest pass rushing defensive lineman in Cowboys history and a member of the 2nd generation 'Doomsday Defense'.
Harvey passed away Christmas eve 2001 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He will NOT be forgotten!

and that bio doesnt do him complete justice either... the sack total in 1977 was actually 23, not the 20 they have...this was before sacks were official, and I remember Landry and Stautner both saying Martin probably had at least 4 or 5 other QB traps that werent counted
he was an overwhelming pass rusher and he just clobbered people when he hit them...wish we had another Harvey today

We need to organize. We all need to get tickets and show up at the HOF on induction day and everytime someone tries to speak we need to chant...
Where is Irvin?, Where is Irvin?, Where is Irvin?
and then when they get tired of that...
Where is Hayes?...Where is Hayes?... Where is Hayes?
And then
Where is Wright?.... Where is Wright?....Where is Wright?
And then, Well you get the picture.
Maybe we would at least get some coverage.

I read somewhere that Wright only gave up 1 sack during his whole career. To me that is one of the most amazing stats in sports. How can an offensive lineman be better than that?
