View Full Version : I guess this guy really did kill Natalee Halloway...
Pretty repugnant...
(CNN) (http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/americas/06/02/peru.murder.case/index.html?hpt=T1&iref=BN1) -- Joran van der Sloot, the Dutch man once considered a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway, is the suspect in the killing of a woman in Peru, Peruvian police officials said Wednesday. There is "incriminating evidence" linking van der Sloot to the killing of 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez, who was found dead in a Lima hotel room Wednesday, Cesar Guardia Vasquez, of the criminal investigations unit said at a news conference.
The hotel room where Flores was found was registered in van der Sloot's name, he said. A hotel guest and an employee witnessed the pair entering the hotel room together at 5 a.m. on Sunday, Guardia said. Police have video of the previous night, May 29, of van der Sloot and Flores together at the Atlantic City Casino in Lima, he said.
According to immigration officials, van der Sloot fled to Chile over land on Monday, Guardia said. "We have all the evidence to show that the killer is this man," the victim's father, businessman and race-car driver Ricardo Flores told CNN en Espaņol. But van der Sloot's attorney, Joseph Tacopino, told CNN it was too early to make any conclusions.
"If history teaches us any lesson from van der Sloot/Holloway case, it's that there have been way too many false facts that have been leaked and rumors that have been proven untrue," Tacopino said. "We need to take a step back. I have not been contacted and the family has not been contacted. Joran has not been asked by anyone to surrender." Ricardo Flores said that police found his daughter's car about 50 blocks from the hotel, and that inside, they found pills like those used in date rape cases.
Similar to the Holloway case, van der Sloot allegedly met at a night spot, in this case, a casino. Ricardo Flores said he did not believe that his daughter knew the Dutch citizen from before. Both of them speak English, and at the casino they struck up conversation, he said.

Yeah, he was caught on a hidden camera admitting to it.
Yeah, he was caught on a hidden camera admitting to it.
But I think that was bull****. Not his admitting it, because he strikes me more of someone who would intentionally kill someone, but that in that video he was saying it was some sort of accident and he just panicked. I think the dude is really some sort of sociopath with an influential father.
I wouldn't be surprised if he knew he was being video taped thinking it would make him sympathetic.
Maybe after he gets nailed for this, they can get some answers about the other from him.

I have always thought that she died from mixing drugs (like maybe he slipped her a date rape drug) with alcohol as deaths of this sort are not really all that uncommon. I doubt that it was a deliberate murder but when she died, they had to dispose of the body and my pet hunch is that they fed her to the hogs and that got rid of all the evidence. Just a guess, of course.
No doubt he's a sleazeball and is probably still using date rape drugs to "seduce" girls. Maybe he can get Rottenberger's lawyer to defend him.
Maybe the boys in the Peru pokey will treat him the same way he treated others; of course, he'll be awake during the whole time (s).
What goes around, comes around.

There's no coincidence he killed both girls and they have evidence in this latest murder. It will be interesting to see if they try cutting a deal with him tell them what happened to Holloway and who dumped her body in the ocean and he'll be spared from the death penalty.

There's many murders who take deals to avoid the death penalty because they're cowards.

They obviously didn't find him attractive enough to have consensual sex with him. I'm sure that's why they both ended up dead. They found date rape drugs in his car or the room of the girl he just murdered.

Peru Death Penalty Abolished in 1979
EmailWritten by JJ on Jun-3-10 5:39pm
Peru is one of the many Latin American countries who signed on to the American Convention on Human Rights "Pact of San Jose, Costa Rica" in 1979, officially abolishing the death penalty for all but a few offenses. In the time since signing, Peru has not executed any prisoners.
Joran van der Sloot (Getty)
The country's stance on capital punishment has come to the attention of the many people following the case of Dutch national Joran van der Sloot, currently the prime suspect in the Sunday morning murder of a 21-year-old woman in Lima, Peru. Van der Sloot was arrested in Santiago, Chile on Thursday and is currently awaiting extradition to Peru, where even if he is found guilty of murder, he will not face the death penalty.
Joran van der Sloot has long been suspected of having a criminal role in the death of American teenager Natalee Holloway, who disappeared May 30, 2005, exactly five years before Sunday's murder.
Peru abolished the death penalty on human rights grounds but retained the option to execute prisoners convicted of crimes of terrorism or treason during times of war.

Depends on how much they had to drink alcohol can make alot of people look more attractive. lol These girls were obviously comfortable enough with Van der Sloot to leave with him but they didn't want to have sex with him or they would still be alive. Women don't end up murdered in these situations if they'll willing to have consensual sex. It's clear he wanted to go further than they did and when they resisted he assaulted both of them. Once he assaulted them he felt he had to kill them to keep them from going to the authorities.
