Don't know about you, but MC Hammer just shot up the list of people I respect. Two commercials both making fun of himself.
Of course, he got paid, but at least he's honest.
The Fedex commercial in the 1st quarter was also pretty good. The Pepsi spots lose points because you know they spent coin getting celebrity appearances while not being wildly inventive. This always seems to be the case with them.
I'm dreading this 'The Longest Yard' remake...

The Fargo/Ford Mustang ad was the best.
I liked the Cedric the Entertainer Bud ad where his 2 great looking ladies start nagging him.

What was the commercial with the chick wearing a tank-top for some website. It was for registering domains or something. I can't remember the site, but it took me a while to come out of my trance. :D

The careerbuilder.com monkey commercials were te best but overall they were pretty lame. I also liked the one bud commercial with the people clapping for the troops. Very classy.

I liked the Batman trailer and the "don't jump to conclusions" one with the guy holding the cat and knife with all the red stuff on the floor...

Some were OK, others were plain stupid. But you all have to be kidding me if you didn't think the commercial honoring our troops in the airport was head & shoulders above the rest.

Tabasco ad, godaddy strap buster ad, and the slaughter cat ad.
We also had our local cable company cut in with local ads and cut out some of the national ones. I hate our local cable co. :banghead:

God that was a great commercial by Budwieser. Most will remember the godaddy.com girl for a few weeks but she will fade into memory like the doritos girl a few years ago. But this soldier ad will stay with me for a while. That was the best, I agree.

The Rochester New York station I watched cut some of them off (and I did not watch the entire pregame show either) but I liked the following:
Frozen guy in Mustang
Guy jumping out of plane after beer
Tabasco girl
Chimpanzees
godaddy.com and
the pig/kangaroo etc who wanted to be a Clydesdale

Agreed.
Personally I thought this years crop of commercials were the weakest in years, but the military guys getting a standing ovation was the best IMO.

I agree this year's commercials were pretty weak. I did like the Ameriquest cat slaughter and robbery commercials. Those had me rolling.
What's interesting about the military standing ovation commercial is that if you've ever been in an airport, people do stare at the soldiers. They don't clap and give a standing ovation, but they stare them down and then whisper to one another. The soldiers act like they don't notice, but you can't help but notice.

I didn't forget Ali Landry, and believe me, this godaddy girl is NO Ali Landry!
I'm not trying to turn this into an Ali Landry thread, but did you know that Ali Landry was married for a few short months, and the guy she married cheated on her? What in the world!!!?? "The eyes of a man are never satisified" That's a Bible verse, and truer words were never spoken!!! How STUPID do you have to be to be married to Ali Landry and let your eyes stray? And the dummy award goes to....................... Mario Lopez.

I appreciate where you people are coming from re the clapping for the soldiers but, oddly enough, that was the only commercial my brother in law commented on during the game. Even though he is Canadian, he volunteered to be a marine in the 1960s and did his tour in 'Nam. He said, the people never clapped for me.
I had the feeling he did not like that commercial.

Hopefully, we've gotten wiser as the years have passed and learned something from our past mistakes.

Tell your brother that I appreciate him as well as most Americans. At the time the whole hate the military thing was in full swing and it shouldn't have happened. I am serious, Tell him that there are those of us that still do appreciate him and his service.
That said, I would hope that he would be one of the ones standing and applauding in the airport.

What's up with those stupid Quizno's commercials with the unoriginal talking baby that just ends up looking freaky? Bring back the 'WE LIKE THE SUBS?!' spongemonkey commmericals. Now THOSE were original.

I liked the Batman trailer and the "don't jump to conclusions" one with the guy holding the cat and knife with all the red stuff on the floor...The guy with the cat and the knife was classic; I thought it was the best. The careerbuilders.com monkey commercials were great, I especially liked the one where the guy said, "I just don't think naming a product the 'Titanic' is a good idea" and the monkey hit him with a banana and then kissed the boss monkey's butt...I think I used to work with those guys.

Anyone with cats can appreciate the Ameriquest commercial because it's not that far from real life.
