I can hardly wait to hear Owens cry about how he was under used. And how he sacrificed for nothing. Mark my words.

EAGLES SUCKMcNabb had a QC moment. That's all on the QB. He has to take control and McNabb didn't.

Owens played great.
Note to Andy Reid: you don't have a time machine. You have to run plays quickly.

I still hate the man. I can't have any respect for the man who ran to the star. You can call it guts or self promotion. Which ever sounds better. Thanks again Roy for causing the pain, give it to him next year too.
Go Cowboys!!!
TO is a bit of a dog to the camera. Although he likes to get camera time, he is a good player who cares about his team and winning (a la Michael Irvin). He, like Irvin makes his teammates better.

I wouldn't quite take it that far ;).
This isn't aimed at anybody in particular, but I feel a great desire to vent my spleen!
All this talk about him being selfish for playing in the Superbowl it's horseradish. Every kid that plays football from the time they are Pop Warner to the time they make it to the NFL (if they do), is taught to play hurt. Almost every sports movie ever made has the star player getting hurt (one way or another) during the season. Micky Mantle played hurt almost the entire '69 season, was he being selfish pushing Marris? Steve McNair plays injured every season, is he being selfish? Brett Farve gets injured or has a death (or close call) in the family almost every year, I guess it was selfish of him to listen to his wife and play football. Marino was Robo QB. He had more metal on him than Robo Cop! What about all the players who play the game with casts on? Flack vests for injured ribs? I guess thats pretty selfish too.
No. They played with courage. Desire. Passion. Integrity. They made a commitment, whether it's to thier team or to themselves and they were willing to sacrifice to participate. It's not like you can fake a broken leg. It's idiotic to accuse him of being selfish during the biggest game of his life (assuming he doesn't make it back ala Marino.). Who knows how many more chances this guy is going to get? While I agree he has done some pretty idiotic and ignorant things, blasting him for wanting to play in the Superbow just makes absolutely no sense at all...
Just like blasting Emmitt, you don't go up to a podium and start crying when you say good bye because your selfish!
Ahem Now back to real life: :iggles: :iggles: :iggles: :iggles: :iggles:

How did he put anything on the line? God had already healed him. :o
BTW, I did hear him whining that, "If that had been Brett Favre, they'd have been calling him a warrior, but me they called it selfishness..."
Whaa, whaa, whaaa...

He's still an utterly selfish me-first prima donna who will ALWAYS put himself ahead of whatever team he's on. Yes, he played hurt--because he couldn't stand the idea of not being in the limelight. God forbid that we get thru the Super Bowl without hearing about him 10,000 more times. (Geez, I almost forgot--what team played against TO? Since we heard about him waaaaayyy more than the entire Pats organization.) Yes, he played hurt. About half the players out there were playing hurt. They just didn't have the big mouths & self-promotion that TO did.
And you're absolutely right--the whining will start soon. He cost Mariucci & Erickson their jobs. Reid was a fool to think TO won't eventually cost him his job too. Remember, it's always about TO. I'd be surprised if he can get thru another season without starting the destructiveness he's so famous for.
Meanwhile, our national nightmare is over. We can now go a few months without having to hear another word from that man. (Here's a fun quiz--see if you can find any sentence he's ever uttered that didn't start with the word "I".)

It may be whining....but the man is telling the truth.
Brett could fart and the media would be falling all over themselves to try and bottle it and sell it as "Greatness".

I heard T.O. exclaim in the Press Conference after the Super Bowl that if someone like Brett Favre had played hurt, the media would have branded him a hero.
His play and that comment made me back off the T.O. bash train. So naturally, I disagree with your entire premise here.

I didn't have much respect for TO but he definetely gained some yesterday.
And yes he should be an example to those like Abraham, I'd really like to know how badly he was hurt to not play....
TO showed how much he loves the game...

I'm not talking about him playing hurt. I have no doubt that Favre's playing hurt would get huge press coverage. I think Favre (& Vick & Manning) get more complementary coverage than they should. On the other hand, I heard very little from the press about Brady's losing his grandmother--they were way too busy worrying about getting the latest "I I I" message from TO.
The whining the original poster was talking about--& that I'm talking about--is the inevitable cancer that will soon start with the guy. I was talking to some of my friends in SFO today. They unanimously agreed that a) they're stunned he actually made it thru a season without trashing his coach & teammates; & that b) it's only a matter of time until it starts, especially since the Eagles lost--that at some point we'll start hearing that he didn't get enough throws during the season, or McNabb isn't accurate enough, or that plays weren't called to take advantage of him, or or or.

That will remain to be seen. He came up in the 49er's system so I dont know what his history is like with other coaching staffs in the NFL. Maybe he didnt think the Niners were committed to winning? Maybe he didnt like his quarterback? He definitely was a Cancer in the Niners Camp but I will have to wait and see first. Besides, Keyshawn Johnson has a history for being sort of a malcontenct and a Cancer, but this past season with the Cowboys he was model citizen.
Since T.O. likes the team he is on, maybe he wont be too big of a problem.

That's what T.O. said:
"We were too sloppy to win," receiver Terrell Owens said. "It was great to get back, but we made too many mistakes. We could have won, and that hurts."
Woulda, shoulda, coulda ..........
Btw you don't know how good it feels to me! . Philly is is gaining ground to Minny and Buffalo of being the biggest losers in pro Football (and if i hurt Minny or Bill Fans' feeling for comparing Philly to such great Fanchises i really have to apologise!!!).
