So my sister who is a big cat rescuer/lover, over extended herself with the cat population at her house and the governing law (my bother in law) says it's time to reduce the cat liabilities. She has spent the last year trying to get me to take a cat and she never took no for an answer in spite of my firm resolution not to take on another pet.
So, here I am with another cat which is not that big of a deal. My hang up is the cats name. Princess.
I refuse to own a cat named Princess, no-sir-eee. :o:
Well, I thought it would be fun to have a cat naming session here.
I was thinking about renaming it; Principle. At least it sounds like Princess and I won't confuse the poor cat.
Have at it, name my cat. :laugh2:

Principle is kind of a mouthful.
I don't know, I'm not that creative.

Got a picture of the cat?
I have 3 cats Mitzi, Toby and Puddin. Talk about free amusement. I can laugh for hours watching them chase bugs outside.

When I was growing up, my sister got a cat and named her Princess. The cat eventually liked me more than my sister and it became mine. The name stuck. I just called her "psst" and she would come just like any other cat whose ears perk up when they hear "psst." So her name became "psst." Awesome cat. She died at 18 yrs old.
My cat's formal name now is Kuma which means bear in Japanese. Although, I gave him the nickname "Snoop Dogg," "snoop" for short. The cat was always snooping around, would always greet me at the door when I came home like a dog, and was all black, so I called him that. Awesome cat. Friend made me take him because she found him and it was right around halloween. So, I had to take him so no freak would sacrifice a black cat for Halloween.
I would suggest "Kunkun" which means "snoop (smell with your nose)" in Japanese. Or you could call her "Neko" which means cat in Japanese.

"Hai" is too short and not interesting. "Combination Platter" is too long and is actually Chinese. I never heard that term in Japan.

Now that's a good name for a female cat if you shorten it to "Bush.":)
Or you could go with "Chichi" which means boobs in Japanese.

How about "underdog"? I've got a cat named that. Folks get a kick out it when I call him and a cat comes running up. Even more than the fact a cat would come running when called.

My dog's name is Allie, but I call her "Snoop Dogg" or "Snoop." It started by me saying "What up dog?" to "What up Snoop Dogg?" and now I just say "Snoop." It's kinda funny because she only answers to "Snoop" when I call her that.

Name it Sparta so when you introduce it to people you can say:
"THIS ... IS ... SPARTA!"
I read that online somewhere, and I thought it was hilarious.
But a great name for a pet is Dallas.

The only cat I ever had I had named Cassiopeia. (called her Cassie for short)
Cassiopeia was (Mythologically) a queen in Ethiopia. Considering it's a female cat it works out well. Cassiopeia was extremely vain and female cats come off that way when they get older. :laugh2:
Of course the the constellation of Cassiopeia if named for her.

That's how it is with all my cats. They have their given name, but what they are called is something else completely, save one.
I have to agree on "Princess" though. Very unoriginal.
