Filed to ESPN: Panthers WR Steve Smith broke his arm playing defensive back during a flag football game at his football camp this weekend.

I agree. It depends on how bad he broke it. If it's a simple fracture it should heal quickly. If it is a complete break that might be a problem. The bones should heal but the muscle loss will be the bigger problem.

He'll be back by the season opener. The question is...is it the same arm he broke at the end of last season? As I recall in the game against the Giants he also broke his arm so if its the same one, with another break, then it's possible that it could be a problem.

So it will heal in time for the season opener then and he should be fine. I guess depending on how bad the break is and all.
