METAIRIE, La. -- The New Orleans Saints have released Bobby McCray, a defensive end who has been with the team two seasons.

He started all three playoff games last season after a season-ending injury to Charles Grant.

McCray is a six-year NFL veteran out of Florida who signed with the Saints as an unrestricted free agent in 2008. He started eight of 32 regular-season games the past two seasons. He was credited with 41 tackles, 7.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

In other moves Monday, the Saints waived reserve cornerback Glenn Sharpe, who spent the end of last season on the practice squad and wide receiver Roy Hall was released from the Reserve/Injured list with an injury settlement.

I have a feeling he will end up in that division still. Atlanta,Carolina,Tampa could all use a pass rusher. Not that he is a huge difference maker, but he is solid.

You have to wonder if this story wouldn't have read:

"The Saints have also released veteran offensive lineman Jamaal Brown. Brown played only the first three weeks of the 2009 NFL season before landing on injured reserve. He has battled a degenerative knee condition dating back to his days at Oklahoma."
