I meant to post this before Father's Day and I forgot. What are your favorite songs about Dads?

I immediately thought of this song. It is so damn sad - always brings a tear to my eye.

Two TV show theme songs came to mind for me immediately:

I used to love this show when I was a kid:

And the version of the Andy Griffith theme with lyrics...

A little sappy, but definitely qualifies for the theme:

This one turns up the sap level several notches... get your kleenex ready:

This song by Amy Grant is most likely about God, but if you were so inclined you could read it as a song about a father and daughter:

Short Story. I had just started a new job during my wife's eighth month of pregnancy and had to put in overtime on the weekends to get up to speed. It was just past noon on Superbowl Sunday (Pats/Panthers), when I got a call from my wife that she was being rushed to the Hospital. It was a month early, but our first child was on his way via emergency C-Section. As soon as I got into my truck to head to the Hospital, this song was on the radio. It was absolutely overwhelming and I waterworked it most of the way there (combination of our first child and panic, I would guess). It still gives me goosebumps when I listen to it....

I was at the dentist a few months after my son was born. this came on the radio as I was getting a cavity filled. I started crying. The dentist was like "do you need more novocaine?" Stupid Harry Chapin.

Dude, I laughed so hard I nearly started crying. That is the best story in three lines I have ever read.
