I'd rather have a high of 109 than a heat index of 105.
At least the air is dry and getting out of the sun cools you off. When you have humidity, you might as well be in hell.

I'm already dealing with that in DC. My electric bill last month almost doubled.

Yep. I don't **** around with humidity.
I'd rather be comfortable, even if it costs more.

I don't even ask my wife what our situation is like because I really don't want to know. It's bad enough feeling like you just walked out of the shower all the time. Knowing how much I am spending trying to keep cool would only serve to irratate me.

It was seriously hot yesterday and today. I felt it bad yesterday because I was hanging 4 doors in a house that got broke into.
I love my pool, I love ice water, and I love A/C. You have to drink water here. During the summer I will occasionally have some lemonade, but water is life.
We're supposed to hit 109 again today. I am headed up to Mt. Lemmon this afternoon for a Boy Scout Devotional meeting. 77 up there today.
I will be psyched about that.

Humidity has been killer here as well.
Yesterday and today it was pretty decent outside. Then bang it rains for five minutes, the sun comes out and all of a sudden it feels like you are in some kind of sweat lodge.
But to be fair to those that are in hot regions without as much humidity. It is much more dangerous in those areas as you don't realize you are sweating as much.
With all of the whining about the current heat and humidity...I will still take this over a freezing cold, snow or ice flying, winter.

I'm on average billing.. Best way to keep from passing out over the heat and the bill.I built a house for a lady here in Tucson. Nothing big, because she was in her 70's and single. About 1800 square feet total.
When I was building it she used to get worried about some of the expenses. I put in windows with HPLE glass instead of clear. I put ceiling fans in every room. I put in as much insulation as I could everywhere. I put in solar tube skylights. I made it dual cooling, swamp cooler and A/C.
She has since passed away. Her son Jerry, moved into that house after she did and rents out his big house on the same lot. He told me that the highest electric bill he had ever had was 85 dollars.
I told him if he had let me make it solar like I wanted to he'd have really been impressed.

I just got my first summer bill and it was $281...but because of average billing, I'm at $150.
I have a feeling I won't be so fortunate next month.

140??? That ain't no fun. We drop a nuke, it'll be like a spring breeze to them.
My little weather station thingamabopper is saying it's only 95 outside, but feels like 113. 56% humidity.

im with you i cant stand the cold, i would rather it be 102 90% humidity practicing in full pads than have it be below 60 outside. im just miserable when its cold

yea but 109 or what ever is still to hot
don't care if you call it a "DRY" heat - there is nothing dry about it
LOL
I remember that one summer in Dallas where it was over a 100 for 90 days in a row
that was nasty
I tell you give me the mountains any time - I mean anywhere in the Rockies - but no father north than Casper Wyo
just to dam cold - I went to college in Rapid City it was great but I was a lot younger then - then after college I used to hiking up in the Big Horn Range over by Sheridan Wyo - nice back then now my blood is gettting thinner
