Looks like Brendon Haywood has agreed to resign with the Mavs for six years $55M.
I don't think the Mavs could have afforded for him to walk.

I Like it. Limits what the heat can do at center. Haywood stays with the mavs and the celtics sign Jermaine o' Neal. Let's see the superteam play without a compliment of big men.

I think that's a pretty servicable contract. Good Job Mavs. Hopefully he doesn't turn into Dampier. Speaking of Dampier, is he off the team yet? Please say yes.

I always hate contracts like this ... where you feel kind of quesy when you sign him, but it's still better than letting him walk. I felt the same way when Jason Terry was resigned.

I watched Haywood play since he entered the league in Washington.
You can keep him, especially for $55M.

He is still on the team, but has a completely un-guaranteed contract. Meaning they can cut ties with him and it will cost nothing. I think they are holding onto his contract as trade bait.

A 30 year old center had a career year in a contract year..... getting 10/10.
Reward?
