T.O. on rookie shoulder pad duty
7/31/2010 11:40:26 AM
There aren't many times that a 15-year veteran can be seen carrying a teammate's shoulder pads. According to staff from the Columbus Dispatch, (http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/sports/stories/2010/07/31/t-o--fine-with-toting-pads.html?sid=101) however, just about anything goes in this summer's Bengals training camp.
Following yesterday's two-hour session on the main field at Georgetown College, new Bengal Terrell Owens carried fellow wide receiver Chad Ochocinco's helmet and pads back to the locker room, which Owens did not mind one bit. After all, there's rookie hazing and then there's a little friendly hazing.. After all. Owens is the new kid in town.
Owens says he doesn't know how long he will be on equipment duty for Ochocinco. "I guess until he tells me I'm good to go," Owens said. "I don't have a problem with it. Whatever Chad says, Chad gets."

My gosh, it's like the floodgates of stupidity have been opened and the hounds of hell are lapping it up as if they have never had water. All because a rookie Cowboys WR didn't carry some shoulder pads.

Oh my gosh. A guy just told me he believes Dez's injury is karma for not carrying the pads. Please don't let the media get wind of the karma angle.

good ol' TO.
I actually used to like T.O. Now I guess I actually will root for Palamalu to crush him 2 times.

He won't get the chance. TO will just give up on the route, and Palomalu will get the INT instead. :p:

Man, I knew we should never have cut TO. This is Karma at its most subtle. The guy we drafted to replace him goes down and TO is happy to be nipping at Ochocinco's heels.
We look like a total laughingstock next to the Bengals. :bengals:

Need to add a sarcasm emoticon.

I love how everyone is blaming TO for this when it was clearly Ochocinco who started it. You can't blame TO for playing along, saying "see how good of a teammate I can be?"

Regardless of who started it, it is obvious the Dallas Cowboys are in the Bengals heads.

This is funny and harmless.
The team is over it anyway so who cares? Someone got in Dez's ear and told them the best story is "Drama in Big D!" and hes already onto that.

You got that right. He figures it got huge media attention in Dallas so why wouldn't it work for him. Problem is, nobody cares about him or the team he plays for except the locals.

They should be. They've got a ton of former Cowboys up there.
Zim, RoyW, Tank, Pac, T.O., Bryant.
Anyone else I'm not remembering?

I'm certain that no one was genuinely surprised by this latest antic. While Chad Ochocinco had a hand in it, this was classic Terrell Owens.

It was Chad trying to be funny, no doubt, but it was clearly also an easy way for TO to get a shot in and try and act like he's some sort of wonderful, team first, player.
Anyone whose watched him play for their team, even if you liked him (and I liked having him in Dallas, I don't have any shame in admiting that) knows that TO is, was, and always will be a me first player.

I agree. Fans need to lighten up. I gave it a giggle and moved on. Nothing worth getting upset over. When he was a Cowboy you laughed at his shenanigans. Now that he's on the opposing team its no longer funny? Lighten up guys.

"Shenanigans"? You mean like:
Self-medicating himself into a hospital admission?
Purposely drawing excessive celebration penalties?
Intentionally conducting a totally (literally) unnecessary nationally televised interview?"Laughed"? Now THAT'S funny.

I thought it was funny.
Thought of it more as a dig against the extreme overreaction by the media then a dig against the Cowboys.
I hope I never lose my sense of humor.
