John Beck? Didn't he play for the University of Houston awhile back? Sounds familiar. If McNugget goes down, who is the backup? Beck will not know Shanny's playbook. Manster54? Where are ya? :D

I wonder how many number 1 picks they traded for him.

Terrific trade

Beck can't play. Parcells thinks so, and now the guy who coached him in Miami thinks so.

Terrific? Theres nothing terrific about acquiring a QB that basically sucks. I don't care if all you gave up was a bag of used footballs, it's still not terrific. It's also obvious that they don't really like what they have seen so far in camp from someone at the QB position.

Well, at least he has a short move...from B-More to Skins.

If Cam Cameron finally gave up, it says a lot about him.

I am interested to see that this might mean Grossman and especially Colt Brennan are not what the Redskins faithful thought they were.

Beck did play at BYU and I must say, I liked him a great deal coming out. I think that he is a good pickup for the Skinz.

Thats ridiculous.

When you trade a CB, who will probably be cut, for a QB that can provide some more competition for your 3rd string Qbs.

Its like, you know, trading a subpar LB for a "not meeting his potential" LT.

I see McFlabb is already making friends in DC...probably vomited during practice on 3rd and long

I don't recall anyone refering to acquiring Barron as "terrific". Most liked the trade because they wanted Carpenter gone. If trading for Beck is your idea of terrific then that just reinforces my take the skins lack of talent.

Supposedly he has a rather submissive and weak personality type, to the point where he could barely bark out the snap count at the Senior Bowl. Combine that with the fact that he was old for a rookie (he's already about to turn 29, only 1 year younger than Romo) and that he was coming from a spread offense in college, and I was never particularly high on him coming out of college. Just another spread QB who put up gawdy stats.

Reading comprehension my friend.

The trade is terrific. You trade the 8th string corner, who most likely will be cut, for a Qb who could win the 3rd string job.

Not, Beck is a terrific player.

I'll make it clear for you-terrific trade value wise. Happy? :lmao:

I'll make it clear to you, trading for a player that sucks can never be terrific. Like I said, I don't care who or what you did or didn't give up to get him, that doesn't change the fact that he sucks. You think the skins got the better end of the deal then thats fine but stop using homeristic adjectives to describe the team trading for a crapping qb.

Sure it can when you maximize value.

8th string CB for a guy who can compete for the 3rd QB spot.

1 guy who was most likely to be cut.

Again-terrific trade

I can't blame teams looking to bring in QB's. Even if you find a backup it can prove very valuable.

Although knowing the Ravens front office, the CB they picked up will probably surprise everyone. ha ha.
