I think they are better without him.

Maclin doesn't compliment Jackson at all and both are 1 trick ponies.

Are teams just using the carts for the dramatic effect?

Maclin is better than the other options the Eagles will line up opposite Jackson. And considering that Jackson is not a lock to play in every game, it is good to have Maclin to fill that same spot.

Actually, per Mort, this is good for the Eagles, good for Maclin. Better Maclin get injured for a few weeks to keep the Maclin hysteria in check instead of practicing to such a fanfare.

Good all around for team and player.

I agree that Maclin is their 2nd best receiver but I always felt like they could move the chains better when he was out of the game.

If the Eagles receivers can't get deep on you then they are worthless and all they can do is try and get Celek the ball.

Hakeem Nicks was too.

Giants WR Hakeem Nicks hyper-extends right knee

8/3/2010 5:56:41 PM

Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/giants/2010/08/nicks-hyperextends-right-knee.html) reports Hakeem Nicks, the Giants’ talented second-year receiver, suffered a hyper-extended right knee at the end of practice today, according to the team.

Nicks is scheduled to undergo an MRI this evening and he will be examined by team doctors tomorrow. He suffered the injury near the end of practice. It was not clear how he got hurt, but he was able to get up and gingerly walk to the sidelines.

Then he rode a cart from the field to the locker room.

The amount of WR injuries this off season is getting ridiculous.

I get that.

It just seems like players are getting carted off left and right.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm used to just seeing the cart used for potential neck injuries, or when Haynesworth gets tired. Otherwise, trainers generally help the player off.

Precautionary measures.
