First thing I thought of after reading the title. Had no idea it would really be about lawn care.

This is certainly the time of year that I don't miss my big old Texas sized property. mowing and weed-eating that thing in the heat was a real bear.

I would prefer to live on a boat .... maybe someday.

My wife mows the lawn! :laugh2:

I usually mowed it on the weekends. One day she put a boat load of fertilizer on the grass and it started growing really fast. She ask me to cut it one Tuesday and I informed her that I only mow the lawn on the weekends.

I came home from work on Wednesday and it was mowed. From that point forward she always mows it. I ask her about it and she said she enjoys it. Who am I to argue that with her! :laugh2:

I mow the front yard on Saturday mornings before it gets too hot. The back is all swimming pool, palm trees and shrubs so there's nothing to mow back there. So I'm generally done start to finish in 20mins.

:laugh2: Not quite. These guys have a number of yards to cut so they gotta get in and get out quickly.

The owner has drives one lawn mower on the front yard.
One guy is edging it at the same time
Another guy cuts the back yard
Another guy trims the edges around the house and my patio
And another guy cleans it up

All for $25/cut.

That's all I worry about.

I pay $25 total each visit. Extra $15 when they trim my hedges.
Wow, thats a great deal.
I'd say 80-90% of my neighbors all use a lawn service. We don't all use the same one, tho.

I always found it funny when I got a new neighbor and they'd cut their own grass a couple times. Few weeks later, they're using a service. Cutting grass in this Texas heat is for the birds.

Dang, so I bet these guys are mowing a lot of lawns then. 5 bucks a house? Damn, that's skimpy.

There's a guy in the neighborhood guy that does mine. I pay him $10-20 depending on if there are lots of tree branches/leaves/misc crap that falls out of the trees. He rakes it up all nice nice, mows the lawn, weed eats and brushes out the cob webs under the deck and porch.

I'll miss him when we move, especially when we have to mow the first time. The new lot is - definitely time for a little riding mower. :D

Child, please. With the humidity, it's been 100+ daily. Last week we had one day where it was 96 degrees and felt like 114 degrees per the National Weather Service.

It's like trying to breathe through a soaking wet towel.

I'd mow my lawn but my sister-in-law "borrowed" it back in May and I haven't seen it since. My poot little dog is afraid to go in the yard now because it's twice as high as he is.

In 100 degree weather? No thank you, I'll put on some big girl panties and grab a wine cooler as I call the yard man.

Now in 70-80 degree weather its a whole other story.

The guy that had been doing mine went back to doing his real estate job full time this year. :(

I've gotten my front yard done and half of the back. It's been South Texas hot here. Hopefully it cools off soon.

perhaps but another way to look at it would be that you are such a man, you earn enough to pay someone else to do those things for you

my goal in life was always to earn enough to get people to paint my house, fix my drywall, fix my car, clean my house etc
