Yeah I'm sitting here watching with my dad, flipping back and forth between this and the Braves.
I can't believe there are still Standard Def broadcasts. I think all broadcasts should be HD and if you don't have it, it should "compress" the picture similar to SD getting stretched on some channels, or add bars to the top and bottom for the widescreen format.

Redskins first team defense looked pathetic. DeAngelo Hall looked like garbage, got his jock juked off by Lee Evans...
Only thing stopping Buffalo from getting 7 instead of 3 was a penalty that backed them up from the 3 yard line. LOL SKINS.

Lol. He had to cover a lot of ground to get that first down and he did. Not liking the Skins doesn't mean you get to lie.

You can tell this is a Shanny offense. Bootlegs galore.

No, that's the exact bootleg I was talking about. His age is showing. Donovan McNabb of old would've been running down field juking guys for more yards, and gotten the first down a lot sooner.

It's only the Bills so I'll hold off on buying my planet tickets to Dallas for now, but it does feel good to beat a team we should beat.
The O-Line looking much better than last year, Trent Williams was pretty dominant in his first game, so that's always nice to see with your 1st round pick.

They'll definitely be better than last season... they have to be. Just getting McNabb instead of Campbell will help them immeasurably.
Still, I wouldn't get too excited about a victory over a team like Buffalo during the first preseason game.
I actually predicted that Shanahan would want to win this one decisively just to get his team off on a good foot. I knew he for sure didn't want to look bad against a very poor Bills team. That would have been disastrous for the morale of the fanbase and more importantly, his team.
Still, it is something to be glad of for the long suffering fanbase and you'd rather see a good win than a bad loss.
All will be settled when the real games start.

That's not surprising. Even as old as he is, as useless as he's been the last couple of years, and as injury prone as he's been he's still a better option than either of those two have proven to be thus far in their careers.
Galloway is going to start opposite Moss?
Looks that way. At least at the start of the season. Things change though.

Not that I'm saying Shanny is the greatest ever, or anything like that, but what exactly did Landry win without Staubach?
What did Jimmy win without Aikman?
Are those two simply lucky coaches to cause they picked Hall of Fame QBs but then did nothing without them?
How is Mike Holmgren (Spelled wrong without a doubt) doing since he left Greenbay and Favre behind?
You can apply that logic to just about each and every coach whose ever won a championship(s).

Perhaps this will show some of the incredibly stupid how important scoring touchdowns and winning preseason games is:
Steve Spurrier's first season...they go 4-1 in preseason and the scores were:
Aug 3 vsSan Francisco W 38-7 Box Score
Aug 10 @Carolina W 37-30 Box Score
Aug 18 vsPittsburgh W 35-34 Box Score
Aug 24 @Tampa Bay W 40-10 Box Score
Aug 29 vsNew England L 28-14 Box Score
They AVERAGED 33pts a game that preseason. Know what it was when the real games happened? 19.1

And that was his good season.
The sad news is, Trent Williams looks like a competent tackle. The good news is, Rabach is still starting. :laugh2:
McNabb still needs a time out after running from the right hash to the right sideline. Y'know, he doesn't look fat and out of shape. Does he have some kind of heart valve condition or something that causes him to be winded and nauseated after a short period of exertion?
The D managed a decent showing against a Bills team that was only missing 60% of its starting OL.
Bottom line, if 'Skins fans are on top of the world after the preseason, they're in for a rude awakening when the Cowboys get there.

He looked like a stud. :(

Let's see what happens when he has to go up against 94. And I bet Wade has a couple of things he'd like to try to see if we can confuse him a little bit.

The positives
No injuries
Trent Williams can play
No injuries
No injuries
Negatives
3-4 D needs a bit of work, too many gaps being given up
No sacks by 1st team D
Redskins tackling atrocious
Santana Moss was shut out
Only averaged 3.9 yards per carry
McNabb tossed a couple of ground balls
Bills missing 3 out of 5 o-line starters
Bills missing some guys in the secondary
Its the Bills
3rd string D gave up 14 points and some long runs in the 4th quarter and team was outscored 14-7 in the 4th quarter
Backup tackles are iffy
Kyle Shanahan called a few goofy plays including an end around on the game's second play. Not sure if he was going "vanilla"
Brandon Banks dropped 2 punts, Devin Thomas dropped a kickoff

I actually didn't think he looked that great. And he had two costly penalties. The good thing is that he acknowledged after the game that he didn't play that well.

I'm worried about Carter and Orakpo. They're going to have to cover guys - not their strong suit... I can't believe Heyer is still on this team, how many years do we have to put up with him?

Heyer is awful, but played decent last night. Probably one of his best efforts he has had.
I think Orakpo will be fine in his role. Carter on the other hand could be a major weakness.
The 3-4 has quite a bit of work to do
