Back a few years go when Bonds was still playing and the worst kept secret in sports was his cheating, a radio show brought up the topic of who is cheating in sports. The first person that came to mind was Roger Clemens who was in Houston at the time. I can't believe I didn't misremember it. ;)
I was happy to see Greg Maddux pass him all time wins, in his final season.

Seems to me there is no purpose in going after him, Bonds, Armstrong etc for lying about drug use. What possible benefit is there?
They run a kangaroo court, you lie about what you know, or better said, stretch the truth, and since they cannot get you on the real charge, they go after you for one that doesn't help solve the real issue, drug use in sport.

Perhaps in the frozen cesspool, America's 51st Unwanted State, leading supplier of idiots to CZ.com Canada, lying to the government is no big deal. Here we take lying under oath, especially to Congress, to be a serious offense.

tell me redneck, how exactly does going after Clemens for lying to a kangaroo court of congressmen who just want facetime going to solve the drug in sport issue?
Do you truly believe that committee of congressmen really gave a crap about drug in sport?
It was just political grandstanding.
If everyone who lied in Congress was charged, there would be no politicians left.

You love throwing that "redneck" thing out there quite a bit. Third time by my count, little man. Bother you much that the guy in my sig had a few million in assets when he passed?
The outrage over drugs in sports brought up the Congressional hearings on the issue. Congress responds to their constituents.
Just because the Queen Mum doesn't give a crap about her piss ant colony across the pond doesn't mean all of our politicians don't respond to the people who put them in office.
