"He was recruited as a tackle but played guard for three years and never complained once," Stoutland said. "Orlando is a great athlete, and that shows you who he is as a person."
TIP-TOP SHAPE
Franklin said he played between 317 and 322 pounds last season. After his first offseason in 2008, he said he returned to Coral Gables tipping the scale at 345. "I'm the lightest I've ever been right now," he said. "I had a great summer. I ran as much as I could and tried to get in the best shape. I want to be able to play 99.9 percent of the snaps this year."
SOLID POTENTIAL
Not Fox. He said Franklin's "upside is through the roof."
"Orlando is just a tremendous lineman and person," Fox said. "He's one of those guys who is always studying the game, and he's vocal - a leader. I've talked to several of the guys around the program and I've heard nothing but good things."
