SMU is getting national coverage on ESPN for their opener Sunday. Nice to see them start to get a little TV love again.

Cool. I did not even bother to check out Sunday glad you posted this
Southern Methodist at Texas Tech should be an offensive shoot out.
Then Monday Navy vs. Maryland and
No. 3 Boise State vs. No. 10 Virginia Tech* both should be good games

Good game for fans of the old SWC.
I graduated from SMU in 1992 but now live out of state. It's been rare to get to watch a game on TV.

I agree. Boise starting the season off ranked #3 if they screw up they will fall far. After all they only face 2 ranked teams this season in VT and Oregon State who is ranked 24th to start the season.

Is Tech going to still be running a wide open offense now that Mike Leach is gone?

Yes, the OC has a similar background (Hal Mumme, etc).

Let's be realistic here. SMU's Gerald J. Ford Stadium is a really cool venue to watch a game in, but that 32K capacity is HARDLY a game-changing home field advantage, especially going against a D1 school like Tx Tech.

I'm not a huge college fb fan but since we had a coaching change I'm excited to see what happens. Also one of my coworkers has a son that is a freshman at LSU so I plan on watching the LSU - UNC game tonight.

I think you misunderstood my point.
The game changing stadium is at Texas Tech....that place is a true home-field advantage, imo.

That could have been a great game but UNC lost 15 players at the last moment and several are projected mid-high round NFL picks (2-3 1st rounders). LSU probably would have won anyway ina close one, but now it should be much easier.

Nooo, actually I think you misunderstood your own point.
If that game were not in Lubbock I would "say watch out Tech", but it is...so I won't.
If "your point" is, it's to TT's advantage to be playing at home, and if they weren't, then the outcome might be different, then you're automatically saying there's a homefield advantage at their opponent's stadium.
I "understood" it the 1st time, but thanks for clarifying.
