The Seahawks aren't done chopping inherited veterans from their roster.

ESPN's John Clayton writes that tackle Sean Locklear will be next to go. The team is trying to trade the longtime starter. If that doesn't happen, Locklear will likely get cut.

wasnt this guy once a OG, would he be worthwhile to look at zoners if he is cut? I dont know that much about him, so asking; :bow:

This is a guy worth looking at if we're unsure about how Columbo returns from injury. If we feel confident he'll return fine then forget it. The intensity, stability and leadership Columbo brings to the line might supersede whatever added athleticism Locklear might bring.

i did some checking up on him, was a OG, but moved to tackle in pros, might be a better fit at OG, kinda like Kosier was and he is just 29

right now, im just not fond of Holland

2 QUESTIONS:

Would he want to come here and be a back up?

How much is it going to cost?

If he agrees to take a Holland type contract sure, but I don't see that happening. He probably going to want to play OT and make starting OT money.

I say no because he really is nothing special.

Locklear would be interesting if waived, not as a trade. Locklear is atheletic, former DL, but likely playing out of position at OT.

Also has a domestic in his past, so may have character issues.

This guy has sucked since 2006. He's done.
Im not sure why he has remained a seahawk as long as he has... Even when we had the best offensive line in 2005 he in my opinion was the weakest link...
Locklear won't bring anything back in regards to trade value but when cut, will make a nice depth option for a team in need. Cleveland would make sense as protection for Joe Thomas (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=4152) or Tony Pashos (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=2190), though I would expect the Browns looking more at Guards.

Looks like Sean Locklear is being shopped by the Seahawks. He was once considered a good prospect, not sure what happend to make him fall so out of favour this camp perhaps it was the new coaching staff including Alex Gibbs who now left the team.
You can never have enough oline depth and I am sure he could replace one of the gazillion linebackers we have on the roster. What say Cowboy nation?

He was pretty decent as a RT from what I remember, in fact he was better than average.

Locklear was really good in '05 and then has been off and on. The problem for him is that Alex Gibbs is the O-Line coach and he wants guys about 290 lbs, which is very small for an NFL O-Lineman. And if you're not that small, you're in his doghouse.

I think he's worth a look. He's inconsistent, so who knows. Won't bring him in until after week 2 so we don't guarantee him money.
