After only one season, the Cleveland Browns are parting with Garcia. And just like last year, Garcia should have some options, one of which could be Tampa Bay. Unable to comment until Garcia's release is official Feb. 22, the Bucs could be in the market for a veteran quarterback if contract negotiations with Brian Griese fail.

Under Griese's current contract, he is due a $6 million roster bonus March 1 and a $2.133 million salary this season. Given the Bucs salary cap problems, a new contract is necessary to lower Griese's cap hit. If the Bucs are unable to come to terms with Griese, he likely will be released and hit the free agent market just like Garcia.

With Jones signing I think Seattle will hang on to Matt. I don't see Garcia coming here since he actually should be a starter some where for a number of years. I have doubts about Bledsoe since I think he may not be the bargain we need and he'll want to play more than a year. I'd rather pay VT the minimum for a year than tie up contract money with Bledsoe. JJ and Parcells will need to do some corporate create speaking to get him here (so I hope they don't lie to him).

That could put Griese in the hunt. I suspect more are enamored with his abilities than at this time last year although he's still carrying baggage around. He's still young enough and talented enough to draw a multiyear deal too.

The next few weeks should be interesting as the dominoes fall in place with the few decent QBs out there. Interesting problem for Dallas.
