Simple as that.
I'm not going to list a great deal of reasons other than his stats.

No question he's not an upgrade.

Seriously, is that even a debate anymore? They're a wash IMO. All these guys we're debating as FA are FAs for a reason. So let's pray we get the best of the bunch who will at least keep us competitive and our D rebounds. If that happens, we'll have a least a shot at the playoffs.

Stats mean nothing.. if stats meant something, Roy shouldn't have made the probowl his second year - his stats "Declined"
I like Bledsoe's TD/INT ratio a lot better than Testys.. and it's too complicated to compare two qb's like this.. reason being, the schemes, etc. Buffalo was a grind it out kinda team, while Dallas had no other option to pass as we couldn't run the bal.. it's really silly. I'll take 20 td's and 16 INT's over 17 td's and 20 int's... for the price of only 2 more sacks? yes. I will.
Bottom line - they both suck. I don't want either, but if i had to choose.. give me 20 td's and 16 INT's over 17 td's and 20 int's. Atleast Bledsoe was a winner last year.

Posted above are just the 2004 comparative stats.
If you look at their career totals you get pretty much the same answer, no discernable difference.

If you review them year by year you can perhaps see where VT's BEST years are better than Bledsoe's. But its not a clear trend IMO.
If anything I might conclude than Bledsoe is a bit more consistent but we are really splitting hairs on that.
I honestly see no compelling reason to usher VT out and bring in Drew.
I think Bledsoe will cost more and with his "I must start" agenda that could be a disruption.
That said. I will not gnash my teeth it we switch to Bledsoe and I'll hope for the best. Its probably a 50/50 proposition.
My primary hope for 2005 is in upgrading OTHER positions as I think the options will be few at the QB spot.

i think ther about a wash.vt throws more ints and drew gets sacked and fumbles more.not much differense there.but here's a differense that makes me lean toward going with bledsoe.at this point we just don't know about henson,if he comes along thenb fine we can cut either next year and move on with henson.but lets say henson does not come along and we see this year he';s not the answer.that means a draft or a f.a. qb next year.if we went draft bledsoe is still young enough to bridge the gap till the toung guy is ready.i think talent wise they are a wash but the age factor would make me tend to lean toward bledsoe just simpley because we don't know who will be the guy to take the job for the future and he's young enough to give us more options

Did you all watch Vinny play this past year? Bledsoe is an upgrade, hell I am an upgrade to Vinny...
That being said I'd rather not have either of them on the team
