Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis is expected to miss four to six weeks after being diagnosed with a third degree groin separation, coach Mike Shanahan said Wednesday.

Portis said Sunday that he felt a "pop" in his groin before leaving the Redskins' 17-12 road victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. His playing time already was on the wane with the emergence of Ryan Torain, who was promoted from the practice squad two weeks ago.

Torain ran 18 times for 70 yards and one touchdown against the Eagles. Portis has just 195 yards on 49 carries this season.

Man, Clinton cannot stay healthy anything. But that injury does sound very painful.

Ah, big deal... that ain't nothing compared to Macey Brooks' Disease, aka Testicular Torsion...

If he was a REAL man, he'd just rub some salve on it and get back out there...

Yeah, it is not like he broke his pinky. That would keep any football player out for weeks!

Its only two cures for men in pain, "throw some dirt on it" or your dead.

Either way he plays the same in any condition. I am seriously thinking he wont be a redskin much longer.

I was for sure his groin area had long been seperated once he started playing dress up.

Yeah -- I loved watching Torain run. That bruising TD run over Quiten Mickell was a thing of beauty. We'll see if he is a Reggie Brooks or not over the next couple of weeks.

He did look good but let's see what he looks like after teams game plan for him before we annoint him the next Timmy Smith
