Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith has talked tough about his former team in the past, but he made it clear Wednesday night that all he's offering the Dallas Cowboys these days is his support.
“Nobody expected them to go through this,” Smith said. “It's a tough gig, and I feel for them.”
Dallas, which began the season as a trendy Super Bowl pick, is 1-3 and in the NFC East cellar.
Speaking at a promotional event at a local hotel, Smith said his “heart goes out” to the club he helped lead to three Super Bowl wins in the 1990s.
