Dallas Cowboys short in short-yardage situations
Posted Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010
ARLINGTON -- One yard.
That's all the Dallas Cowboys needed from Marion Barber on third- and fourth-and-goal situations just before halftime.
With a touchdown, the Cowboys would have gone into the locker room down 14-10, with momentum on their side, instead of 14-3 with nothing to show.
But he couldn't make the push, couldn't move the pile and couldn't get the ball into the end zone.
To boot, on the fourth-down try, Barber and quarterback Jon Kitna, who was making his first start, ran into each other at the handoff, making Barber's job that much tougher.
Couldn't get that precious yard.
