From what I understand, up untill week 5 or 6, the waiver wire is based on last years records, but when talking about Randy Moss, the radio station I was listening to said the waiver wire is Buffalo, Carolina, Dallas, Denver (I think it was denver, definately carolina before us). They may be wrong, not sure.

Found this (http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/21003/wheres-your-team-in-nfl-waiver-order)
Seems you made a slight error, Carolina's opponents are a combined 27-25, while ours are 28-23, you may have included teams we haven't played yet, while for waiver purposes, they only include teams you have played. If so, certainly good news for us

There is no error, my order is correct.

I almost feel bad wanting Dallas to get the #1 pick, but I think being that much of a train wreck, can quickly turn us around. Imagine if a new CBA, with a rookie pay sacle is reached. We could get so much in return for moving from #1 to #3 or even just as much for going from #2 to #3. At minimum, we could end up with the #3 pick in round 1, the #1 and #3 pick in round 2 and a future first rounder.

I think 12 to 15 would be almost ideal given our needs.
Until we win some games, Patrick Peterson is my choice.
i want # 1 overall!
Why, either we can take Luck, possible future probowler, Hall of Famer, or if a sweet trade is offered, we can trade down 3 spots or so. And still get an impact player.
Another reason why I want # 1 overall is this:
What if there is no CBA collective bargaining agreeement, which could mean no NFL in 2011.
I dont know how the 2012 draft would be figured out, but if it is based off of won-loss records, we might have back to back # 1 overall pick. If we trade down alittle in 2011, but still get a top player, and get another top player in the 2nd round, possibly 2 top 2nd rounders or 2 top 3rd rounders.
Then, that fills this team with obvious needs. Most of the time, when your picking in top 5 of the draft from 1st round to 4th round, you generally get good players.
Then, if we dont take that first overall pick, but have the first overall pick in 2012 because of no NFL due to no CBA, then we can get what other impact player we need. Even if we trade down again, and pick up another top 2nd or 3rd rounder, we still come out ahead, with top impact players in 2 straight years.
This is partly how the Cowboys were built in mid 70s with Randy White, Ed Jones, Tony Dorsett, with 2nd rounders as follows, which allows you to take some gambles now and then.
74 draft
1. ed jones
3 danny white
75 draft
1. randy white
1. thomas henderson
2. burton lawless, wasnt a great player but filled bill for a couple of yrs
3. bob breunig
4. pat donovan
4. randy hughes, injury prone, but made big plays in 77 superbowl
77 draft
1. tony dorsett
3. tony hill
we traded a boat load of # 2's etc to seattle for dorsett, those picks seattle used didnt work out too well for seattle
Point, im trying to make, with top picks in those years, we made some great picks, because we were picking high, this loaded us up for superbowl runs, with impact star players, for superbowls in 75, 77, 78
Same thing in 90s
89 draft
1. troy aikman
2. daryl johnston
3. mark stepnoski
4. tony tolbert
90 draft
1. emmitt smith
3 jimmy jones, decent player that helped our defen line rotation & pass rush
91 draft
1. russell maryland
1. alvin harper
2. dixon edwards
3. godfrey myles decent player
3.erik williams
92 draft
1. kevin smith
1. robert jones, never did like him
2. jimmy smith, gave up on him too soon
2. darren woodson
3. clayton holmes decent player
So, let me state it again, I want that # 1 overall pick, where we the Dallas Cowboys are calling the shots in the NFL, another thing to remember, since draft will be held covering 3 days, then you have top pick in each round, so the next day, someone may want a player that slipped through, and you may get another sweet deal to trade down a little, but if its a player you want that slipped through, then you take that player, but you have option of either staying where you are, or moving down alittle and getting another 3rd or 4th rounder. YOU can rebuild your team that way quickly, with having top overall draft picks in each round. You may even get a number one pick the following year, , plus some teams top 2nd rounder for trading your overall pick in 2nd round and moving down some if you have that top overall pick.
Your in control of the draft!
So, YES! I want that # 1 overall pick.

Some folks on here are way overrating Deunta Williams value. He's definitely got 2nd or 3rd rounder written all over him.
Not sure where all this love for him is coming from. He's going to have to blow it up the remainder of the season to jump up.

Lol, have you even seen him play? Or did you type in Deunta Williams stats on google and see that he has 0 INT's this year? I'm guessing both. He's missed 2 or 3 games to begin with, so stats are misleading.
And if you've even seen him play you'd see that you're sooo soooo wrong. I've watched about 2 of his games this year and in those games he's been DOMINANT. This guy NEVER gets beat deep. Even his first few years at UNC, he never got beat deep. It's not all about picks. He's always in the right position, he's fluid, fast and can HIT.
And most scouting services have him as the #1 safety and a first round pick. Not sure where you got that he's a 2nd or 3rd rounder, unless that was IYO
I know his last game he dropped a pick against William and Mary and another time a penalty was called. So stats ain't everything.

Yeah, I've actually seen him play and more than just the two games you've watched him play. He's actually missed the first four games of the season due to suspension.
Have you watched him play extensively, or are you just watching some video clips off of YouTube?
He's a solid prospect but not much better than the Chip Vaughn's and Reshad Jones of the world IMO.
It is my opinion he'll be a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Exactly where are you projecting him? Care to make a gentlemen's bet?
Also, you're silly to be quoting "most scouting services" at this point. If you follow the draft process, half of those players they have listed as potential first rounders won't even be taken in the 1st round. Likely half of the players they have listed in the Top 10 won't be drafted there.

I think he does have a chance to make it in the back end of round 1. This is a relatively weak crop of safeties coming out this year and I think that will help his cause. Earl Thomas and Eric Berry would still be the top players at the position had they come out this season instead of last. I would also place Nate Allen ahead of him.
Actually, the player he reminds me most of in terms of style and ability is Chad Jones (former LSU Tiger).
I think he's a good prospect, just not the Top 15 type pick some seem to be espousing.
If we were to grab Peterson in the 1st and Deunta in the 2nd I wouldn't be too upset, although I think it's likely a pretty decent OT/OG will be available in the early part of the 2nd round.

a kid I been watching FS Quinton Carter OK 6-1 #195
Carter is exactly the type of versatile defensive back NFL teams are looking for to slow down the pass-happy offenses in today's game. He has played strong and free safety in Bob Stoops' defense at Oklahoma because of his physicality and speed; his ability to make the big hit, support the run, play centerfielder, or even line up in man coverage is rare among college safeties.
Read & React: Heady defender against the run and pass. Very quick to close on bubble screens whether lined up in man or coming down the hash. Capable of moving to the sideline quickly from the two-deep look, though he is sometimes a step late to recognize when the corner needs help. Comes off his coverage to close on the ball while it's in the air, often gets to the receiver as the ball arrives or a split second later.
Man Coverage: Athletic safety who can step up to play outside or in the slot, if needed. Asked to jump out on receivers on corner blitzes, can stay with them down the sideline or on the hot route over the middle. Needs work staying low and over his feet in his backpedal, as well as using his hands to prevent separation and knock receivers off their routes at the line.
Zone Coverage: Has the speed and playmaking ability to be an effective two-deep centerfielder. Closes to the ball in a hurry to make bone-jarring hits, forcing fumbles or incompletions. Owns good hands for the interception whether the ball is thrown at his numbers or in a jump-ball situation. Adjusts well to balls thrown behind him. Noses up against the run and when the quarterback scrambles, leaving his corner on an island if his man heads downfield. Late to get to the sideline at times, even when there is no threat of a run.
Closing/Recovery: Excellent closing speed to attack receivers and running backs in space. Plants and drives forward with a nice burst to the ball. Effective blitzer because of his speed and timing. Fair recovery speed and change-of-direction ability for a safety; can catch up to receivers if beaten on a quick initial move. Takes aggressive angles because of his speed, elusive NFL runners may take advantage of that. [/FONT]
Run Support: Headhunter in run support, attacking plays whether playing near the line or well off. Chases down ballcarriers from sideline to sideline. Willing to lower shoulder into lead blocks so others can make the play, but lacks great strength to take on linemen and disengage to make plays.
Tackling: Solid tackler who is a reliable last line of defense because of his athleticism and aggressive style. Is an intimidating presence, loves to lay the wood on the sideline and over the middle (will get penalized for big shots late, was actually thrown out of practices for being too jacked up). Will be the second or third man into the pile, forcing it backwards on most occasions by bringing his hips and keeping his feet moving. Comes in high on some tackles, grabbing shoulder pads and allowing shorter or stronger players to slip away
Intangibles: Exceptional leader on the field and in the locker room. Receiving degree in sociology with a non-profit organization studies, but already has started has own non-profit called SOUL (Serving Others with Unity and Leadership) to help kids in the Las Vegas area. Redshirted the 2007 season with a severely pulled hamstring, also missed the beginning of the 2008 season with surgery on a slightly torn knee ligament.
