Sporting News draft expert Russ Lande and his team of former NFL scouts identify the players whose stock is rising and falling for the 2011 NFL draft:

On the rise
1. Jacquizz Rodgers, RB, Oregon State

The 5-7 junior is muscular, strong and well built. Because of his size, his durability as a feature back has been a concern. In 2010, he has been durable and highly productive, which has raised his draft value. He is a naturally instinctive runner with great vision to find openings and the explosive burst to get through them. He is an elusive runner who makes tacklers miss and has the playing strength, competitiveness and balance to run through contact between the tackles. As the NFL has become more of a wide-open offensive league, smaller players like Rodgers have become more valuable and are now worth taking in the first or second round.

2. James Carpenter, OT, Alabama

Entering the '10 season, Carpenter was viewed as a fourth- or fifth-round prospect with upside, but he has played better as a senior. He has the strength to control defensive linemen physically. He can drive his opponents out of plays on run blocks and can stop bull rushers in their tracks when he uses hands aggressively. While he is not an elite athlete, he is quick-footed and smooth and blocks with good leverage. He must become consistent with his technique and use his hands more aggressively in pass protection. If he continues improving the rest of 2010 and does well in the spring, he could move up draft boards.

3. Rick Stanzi, QB, Iowa

The senior has improved throughout his career at Iowa and has many believing he has the tools to become an NFL starter. He has very good size and strength and has shown improved arm strength over the last two seasons. He can make all the necessary throws when his footwork and mechanics are on. He is not going to make big plays scrambling with the ball, but he has enough athleticism to avoid sacks. More than anything, Stanzi is smart: He consistently makes good decisions and does not force passes. His impressive play in '10 could move him as high as the fourth round.

Lol, that mock is an absolute joke; Christian Ponder in the Top 10; Jacquez Rodgers being taken in the 1st round? Hilarity...
