Williams thinks Cowboys could win nine in a row

IRVING -- At 1-6, the Dallas Cowboys have been all but left for dead.
They're riding a four-game losing streak and are off to their worst start since going 1-15 in 1989.
No team has started 1-6 and made the playoffs since 1990.
Optimism is at an all-time low at the team's Valley Ranch training complex. There remains one stubbornly positive voice in the Cowboys' locker room.
Receiver Roy Williams is still talking up a historic, if not miraculous, turnaround.

At least we know he is going to go out and give it his all. Can't say I have a problem with his attitude towards ths situation.

If they win at GB and at NYG then I will start to believe they can put something together but that is a very TALL order.

A nine game win streak would also potentially swing the pendulum with Jerry back towards keeping Wade for next season.
The meltdown here WOULD. BE. EPIC.

I'd be happy for a one game winning streak for now.
:bang2:
Good for you, Roy. Screw what everyone else thinks. Everyone thought this was one of the most talented teams in the league going into the season. They weren't all wrong. Losing Tony sucks, but Kitna is servicable and if everyone else pulls their collective heads out of their rear ends, this is not impossible. May not be probable, but it is possible.
Take it one game at a time, Roy, and keep preachin along the way..

...players on this underperforming team talking to the media.
If there really was a group of players with some integrity they would stop talking and focus on salvaging what remains of the season.
Who cares about the wins and losses at this point!
What about raising the level of your practice? What about fighting to the whistle on every play?
How about the simple concept of doing it and not talking about it?
This team in my mind is the worst kind a fan can cheer for. They are talented, but stupid.
The lack of attention to details, a sense of urgency in regards to their profession and the pride to drive further and play harder than the last rep in practice is what is sorely missing with this organization.
In my opinion what is the problem...
...we need a new GM who is constantly sour and makes everyone walk on eggshells.
We need a Parcells type of coach, but not a Parcells quitter.
These past ten years I sorely miss the stern, stoic and steady approach of Tom Landry.
It's like they stop making coaches like this, but with all the immature individuals who have won the athletic lottery not starting with the right guy at the top is a weakness in my mind.
Jerry can be the owner, but he's not serious enough to make people accountable to him. He's got to realize he doesn't have that many kicks at this can before age will eventually remove him from the game. He can't let the final decade of his legacy end like this.

Unfortunately, in his final years as a football coach, Landry resembled the old Parcells too.

I have a problem with them thinking that they have showed any signs of being able to win one game. Nonetheless 9 .... I mean one in a row. It's delusional, and that's a problem.

So how do you think fans of the 1-6 team in 1990 felt when they were 1-6?
The few that held out hope...were they delusional? How about the players on that team?

I am living in the here and now. What happened then is irrelevant to this 1-6 team. That's another delusion, thinking this team is comparable to any previous team.

Unfortunately, in his final years as a football coach, Landry resembled the old Parcells too.
...Landry on his final years it a disservice to the legacy of excellence he developed over numerous seasons.
Things have changed, players change, but excellence is still defined with similar standards.
1-6 is not excellence and the problems systemic with this team begs for another approach to the last four years.
This is a problem you can't throw talent at to fix. Jerry and Wade have had their turn. It's time for another experiment.
As Dr. Phil would say on his show..."How's that working for you?"
