I chuckle many times watching fans fight for one player or another that they are SURE will be the next great.....
The reality is people fought over if we should play Quincy or Hutch....the both suck!
There were people who wanted Romo in their......where are they now?
People thought Danny White sucked and wanted Hogeboom......he sucked!
Heck my brother in-law (Bears fan) was screaming for Hutch to play for Chicago when we played them last Thanksgiving....he sucked!
We allways want the player who isn't in there sucking at the time. Because everyone is convinced that Bledsoe sucks they are sure that Henson would be better! Always the same people, always the same mantra!
If we threw Henson in there at this early stage of his return he would ......suck! Look at the T-day game, after the week before Cowboys Nation was convienced he would kill the Bears who frankly were aweful. And with a week to prepare for Henson (even with BP trying to create confusion)......he sucked!
What do you think would really happen this year if you guys got what you wanted? I'm betting we would waste a year watching a guy who isn't ready get the crap knocked out of him, throw interceptions and get his confidence shaken. I'm betting at the end of the season Romo would the next guy you all want to see in!
Fans Don't Know Who To Play......Period! We always want the "Other Guy".
Flame Off! :D

While the Bears may have indeed been terrible overall, their defense was a strong unit all year. Also, Henson did not have a week to prepare; he had 3 days.
This was hardly an overwhelming argument against Henson since he played every bit as well as Vinny that Thanksgiving Day. He would have been much better than Vinny was had he had the experience to pick up the blitzes they were throwing at him. Those blitzes were his only downfall in that game. He played like the Rookie he was but I would hardly say he sucked.
Other than that you made some valid points in a certain inimical way.

Good points Jack. But I'm still betting that Henson would pretty much suck this year if he was the starting qb.
I know that many believe that it will help him in the long run, and that may very well be true. But I don't mind waiting on him for a couple of seasons if necessary.

And which Board or Cowboys Nation are you talking about that said Henson would be killing Bears when started?
Do youself a favor, and there is an archive of this board and has archive of all posts during that week, and post us all the links saying that Henson would be instant success against Bears? Its easy to post bunch of stuff without any facts or proof to backup.
And maybe you never saw Bears last year, but their Front Seven was one of the best in NFL. Your argument is full holes and generalities and not to mention you forget the basic fact that Henson had only three days to prepare.

Wow! First time I've had to use dictionary.com to research words used on the forum!
I don't mean to be negative in my comments, just brutally honest on the pattern of reaction. Maybe I should have used the "grass is allways greener phrase" :D

All one has to do is look at the posts from the end of the Baltimore game to the days after the Thanksgiving game. From there you'll have plenty of material for overreacting of how Henson will be the greatest (Including one who even dared to say he'd be better than Aikman and Staubach).

Ok, and that says he will be great against Bears? How is that same? Sure plenty of people said he will be eventually great. I think he has the potetial to be one.
Maybe you should post the posts that said Henson would be awesome or kill the bears on thanksgiving, instead of what you think people said. Again we are talking about Bears game only not about what people thought Henson has a chance to be.

I think the best QB should start. Most peoples points are, if we are going to lose why not lose while looking at our future?
I can take losing if there is a future in it. I dont want to lose and be QB'ed by a 42 year old who thinks int's will get him into the HOF.

Picky! Point is the same, your reaching for a specific post and I'm not going back to try and find it. The earlier poster was right! After the Baltimore game and before the Chicago game the expectations where that he would prove he should be the starter. It then unraveled and there were people on this board that stated that it was a setup by BP to make him look bad. I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers these things.

Misguided and counter productive. This thread can do nothing but start a flame war. I suppose that is the point but still, one has to wonder why after observing the futility of Carter/Hutchinson the past few years.
Nice move.

Flame Off! :DSeems like just about every Henson guy on this forum had said he would pretty much suck his first year starting and they're ok with that because at least we're building for the future and who on this forum ever said they wanted Romo starting?

Well...as a long time fan, uh Aikman started as a rookie and uh, he "sucked"....I wasn't calling for his head...
Staubach started early in his career and uh he "sucked"...in fact, he basically ran every chance he got rather than waiting for the play to develop.
I'm not going anywhere...if Henson started next season and wasn't effective BUT the organization was confident he was the guy for the future, fine...I have no problem with losing while he gets experience...hell, we've been losing for a long time...so it would be anything new, except we'd have an upside..and that would work just fine for me.
For me, the point is, the definition of "ready"...
If Henson not being ready translates to, Parcells no longer has the energy or patience to deal with a kid at QB...plus Jerry is again deluding himself into thinking we have a super bowl roster...then I'm not happy with him sitting.

So you just know he would suck. Well most of us would expect it but who knows he could surprise everyone. As for the Bears game. Lets see. Henson had 3 days to prepare for that game. Henson didnt look to bad when he had to go in at the end of the Ravens game where he followed the game plan for that game. But when Parcells got done screwin up the game plan for the Bears game he limited Henson to much.

Well I got a real obvious clue for you. No matter when Henson starts he will struggle. Henson aint gonna get any feel for game speed holdin a clipboard and sittin on the sideline forever. We COULDA started him this year and let him go through the struggles and see if he can improve. It doesnt matter if he starts this year or in 5 years he will struggle for a year or 2 no matter when he starts.
