Well, fun as this has been gang, it's snowing in DC, so the Feds are shutting down early. That means the rest of us get to go home early too! We're like little kids here, waiting for a snow day. So, see ya tomorrow (maybe).
Just to make it semi-Cowboys related. Turns out Hollywood Henderson had a book signing at the bookstore in my building last night! Didn't find out until too late, tho.

Lucky you Kitty. My company are staying open. They always do. They allow employees to use their paid vacation if they want to leave early during snow days. I miss working for the Government. We'd leave work as soon as the first flurry hits the road.

I've got a big poker game tonight, so hopefully the accumulation stays down.

Wow, we need at least a foot of snow before we even think of getting back home. And it has to be really windy...

The funny thing is that there is absolutely NO snow on the roads, it's not slick at all, and the accumulation is negligible.
People around here (D.C.) overreact to snow like they overreact to Dan Snyder's off-season moves.

We were SUPPOSED to get about four inches here in the Richmond area, but late yesterday afternoon they switched the forecast, saying it was going to be warmer than expected and the snow totals would stay down. That later forecast ended up being right. We got a dusting. :( I REALLY wanted to get out of here early today and go play in the snow with my kids.

A foot!!!! in the DC/MD/VA area that is considered a snow storm. The area would shut down for 2-3 days if we got a foot of snow.
How is the weather right now in Quebec.

You all are just "pikers".
Any of you folks looking for snow... I'll send you directions. :D
As a matter of fact I'll even provide low cost driving lessons. I'll show you how you can still do 70 with 4 inches of snow on the roads and live to tell about it. ;)

In Houston, we just need a little ice on the ground and the whole city shuts down. On the flipside, we'll drive through a tropical storm with floods as if it was just an afternoon shower.

I think I prefer snow storm than tropical storm.
But what we don't know and live with always make us afraid.

I must have about 5 feet in front of my house. :D
So you could have some in you driveway.

At the first hint of snow the whole city shuts down here. The only removal equipment we have are sand trucks :D

You've got sand trucks? It's so rare for ice or snow to come here that we're always caught off guard.
It's the dead of winter and two days ago it was sunny and 80 degrees. It's now a nice muggy 70 now after a brief thunderstorm containing high winds.
Well that's it for the weather report. Back to you, Chip.;) :p:

Last week we hit 70 then back in to the low 50's the next day. We haven't had a real big snow storm since I was in HS.

You must not have been outside for a while it is 57 degrees with a nice north wind blowing right now. At least the rain is out of here for now
I hate you. :D :p:
no you dont ;) If saying that makes you feel better about your sucky arse weather its ok if you say it, I understand :D
Its not all people think it is. Cooking outside on the grill in shorts and a t shirt on Christmas Day is a bummer. Holidays sneak up on you because the weathers a 2 season deal, warm or really hot and humid. It was nice that I got to take the kids to the beach in Tampa last month though :p:

I got to work just before the rain hit downtown. I'm able to see that it's cleared up, but I haven't even thought about going outside.
oh just FYI, if you follow the rockets, they made a couple trades today.

When I say I just beat the storm, I just beat it. It was just beginning to pick up when I walked in the building.
Yep, Chevron tower by the Park Shops. It's real cool because I can see both Minute Maid and the Toyota Center from my window. It's about a 3-block walk either way.

I know exactly where that is. I know someone who works for the county as an auditor. That's pretty cool, Dooms. Nice to know there's neighbors on the board. :D
