View Full Version : Did Dallas tamper with Bledsoe?
Why the heck was Key Johnson breaking Bledsoe film down past two weeks????????
Also on board with the quarterback signing is receiver Keyshawn Johnson, who spent much of the past two weeks watching film of Bledsoe.
Johnson said Bledsoe, 33, is a younger and stronger version of Vinny Testaverde, the team's 41-year-old starter last season.
"It's a great move," Johnson said. "He can still play. Would you take Vinny if he was 33? Yes. With the talent we have around him, it's a great move.
"We've got two good receivers, two good tight ends and a running game with Julius Jones. We've got firepower on offense. In Buffalo, he had two head coaches in three years and no receivers to help."
Said Bledsoe: "It's an offense that, when I looked at it, it was very enticing. I can't wait to go home and dress my kids in little stars and get rid of the other team's stuff."

I read the Cowboys people have known for weeks the Bills planned to release Bledsoe...not tampering with him just to break down film of the guy

If the Cowboys tampered in order to get Bledsoe, I think charges should be brought against the Bills.

What's wrong with watching film on a qb that was going to be released?

Yes, I think we tampered and the punishment should be that we forfeit Drew Bledsoe immediately. I realize that penalty is somewhat harsh but by God Dallas Cowboys won't be known as cheaters and I think we need to set a good example for the rest of the league. :D

A lot of times when teams know they are releasing a player, as a courtesy they will let that player talk to other teams before the release date(sometimes under a guise that they are discussing a trade to fend off the league office).

Was he breaking down Fiedler? Garcia, Hasselbeck.
Its been known for as long as a month that Bledsoe was available in the NFL circle.
I just think its odd Keys breaking his film down. I think the Bills granted Drew permission to talk to Dallas as was reported there were "trade discussions".

This deal was done weeks ago.
Hence Key is breaking his film down.

Dallas was susposedly trying to trade for Bledsoe, don't you think the film of him was running in alot of places in Valley Ranch?

I doubt there was ever any "trade talk"...
I do suspect that the Cowboys brass (Jones & Parcells ) knew he was going to be released and figured he would be an upgrade vs Vinny while Hensen continues to develop & grow.
One of my biggest hopes for the offense is a return to a healthy Dan Campbell!

Maybe Big Bill went to Key and said, "Hey, I want your opinion of Bledsoe. We are working on a trade (wink wink, nudge nudge) for him and I'd like to know what you think. Okay?"
And why would Key watch film of Fiedler, Garcia or Hasselbeck...they are not "Parcells guys".

I think no matter how you look at it D Henson is not ready to start as our Q- back for 2005 so the signing of Bledsoe makes sense. Hasselbach was franchised as expected and Brees was signed so that left Bledsoe or one of those other castaways that Gilligans's Island didn't even want. Lets face it Bledsoe will not finish out the 3 yr contract he is the insurance policy to protect Henson until he is ready. Now what we need to do is go out and build our offensive line to protect Drew as we have some key offensive players in place. We still need another speed receiver who can stretch the field to complement our wideouts and backfield. Not to mention the overhaul of our defense starting with the D-line and corner/line backer/ safety positions
