Jernigan leads Troy over North Texas

nowBuzz up!DENTON, Texas — Once again, Jerrel Jernigan shined for Troy. This time, he did it when the Trojans needed him most.
The Trojans battled North Texas all night, but Jernigan had a hand in Troy’s last two scores in a 41-35 Sun Belt win at Fouts Field.
Jernigan, who had 240 all-purpose yards to become the Sun Belt’s career leader there, ran 55 yards to set up a third-quarter score and threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Donnie Crosby for the Trojans’ final score as they held off the Mean Green (2-7, 2-4 Sun Belt).
Jernigan ran for a team-best 89 yards on six carries, caught four balls for 57 yards and hit 2-of-2 passes for 18 yards.
