I respect Brad Sham, and his opinions a great deal, and I know a lot of others do as well, so I thought I would post the thoughts he gave about the Bledsoe signing last night on "Outside the Lines".
Sham on, Does Bledsoe make the Cowboys a better team?
"Depends on the rest of the team. If it is like last year Bledsoe might be worse, but if it is better Bledsoe may be very good."
Sham on, Is this a pivotal change in the way Jones is approaching his relationship with Parcells?
"The National Media has wanted to make the Jerry/Bill impending rift a big headline since before Bill was even hired, when the word was out they might be talking.
The fact is there is no rift. There may be different opinions from time to time, but to say there is a rift is completely false. What this is, is that Jerry made a commitment to Parcells, and Jerry feels the only way the commitment can be succesfull is to let Bill be Bill."
Sham on, Roster Changes.
"There does need to be changes, and I think Bledsoe having seen him for the last 2 years in person, and on television has a lot left. But he is not a guy who is going to be able to sustain success if he does not have better play out of his O-Line than the Cowboys gave Testaverde last year. And if the Cowboys do not get another key WR, and I am talking about a lead dog to go along with Keyshawn, Glenn, the 2 TE's, and the improved running game, if they do not have those things Bledsoe is going to have a tough time here."
Sham on, Henson -
"If you think about what everybody said about Henson, nobody said he will not be a very good player. Everybody thinks it was a great deal to get him for a 3rd. Nobody did not say that. Now he has come here, he played no more than 8 games as a starter, he has not played in 4 years, and people now want him to jump out and be something that is unreasonable.
Now what does he got? I do not know because we have seen so little, but what I did see in Training Camp, Pre-Season, and 3 quarters, he looks like he might have something. At some point they have to find out about Henson, but it does not have to be this year."
