Delhomme #1 WR Steve Smith was injured most of the season and during the SB run Smith was the main go to guy. No doubt losing a talented WR like Muhammad will hurt but the Panthers are not without some quality players. Delhomme will be just fine. As for Muhammad I hope Dallas makes a run at his he is a very talented WR and would be a big asset

Would either the Deadskins and the Vikings pursue Muhammad? leaving the possiblity of M. Williams open for that 11th spot?

Now we will see just how "good" Delhomme is without Muhammad catching all his poorly thrown balls That is true, alot of his balls caught were behind him or just up for grabs, he does make the tough catches look easy.

Which is why he would be perfect for making the tough catches from the floaters and ducks Bledsoe will launch in the air while he's falling on the ground.

No prob for me. Who is the one to explain to him that he should get used to lose the big game? I won't

I doubt it. if the skins lose both coles and gardner, they would probably want to find replacements for both. I'm sure Gibbs/Ramsey wouldn't mind having Muhammad, Williams and Jacobs as their 3 WR's. with portis in the backfield and cooley at hb.

Nope, he was scheduled to be a cap casualty. 6 mil roster bonus with a 10 mil cap hit or something to that effect.

The Carolina Panthers (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=car) have released wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=3511), ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports.

The team had until Wednesday to make a decision about Muhammad, who would have been owed a $10 million bonus.
Muhammad caught 93 passes for 1,405 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, his best by far since he joined Carolina in 1996 out of Michigan State.

We should be all over this.
Keyshawn/TGlenn/Muhammed
Witten / Campbell
jones/?whoever
Things would appear to be shaping up although it does appear to be an OG wr lineup.

We need to get younger at WR not older.

What are you talking about? We can't win with young players. Just ask Parcells. :)

I'm with you but I think it'll take big money on an older WR who would certainly add depth and make a terrific threesome. However I think we can get someone cheaper or thru the draft and spend that money on OT or defense.
I'd still love to have the guy on a front loaded contract if we could afford it.

I don't want to break the bank on any player but I would hope Dallas at least looks at Muhammad and if we can't have him maybe we can help jack up the price for some other team that does.

If the price is right and a reasonable contract could be worked out............Sign this guy. He is one top notch receiver.

I watched him play at Michigan State and what I also like about his game is that he is big & tough with decent speed and is tough to bring down & is an asset in the running game as well.
I think Parcells would prefer we have a player with both size & speed. MM might be a good signing if we don't break the bank...
Having said that, I like Morgan as a 3rd WR with his RAC ability & speed. After a offseason knowing the playbook he might be able to do well, as he has lead the NFL in the last 3 years in longest avg. per catch.
I also think Crayton has a shot vs Copper...
But with both Key & Glenn coming off injury's (and Campbell) if might be wise to get a proven outstanding player here who might fit well with a Bledsoe/Hensen combo platter...

Again I agree. They are going to spend money this year in FA. They just have a lot of holes to fill. I think they will be looking at any players and this guy is a player. It will just boil down to where they are willing to spend their money and who they can get within their budget.

because he is old, like our other two starting WR's
we dont need three 30+ WR's...old guys break down...old guys slow down...we need speed and young talent

I'm still skeptical on MM. Unless you tell him his pay the next season is based on how he performs this season, his numbers don't really blow you away. This year, more or less, since there was no way the Panthers were gonna pay him the roster bonus and his salary, was a contract year for him. His other best year was a contract year. In between, there were some "nice" seasons, but not worth the money he wants.
Besides, had Smith been healthy this past season, his numbers would have been much less than what they were.

Besides, had Smith been healthy this past season, his numbers would have been much less than what they were. But that is exactly the point. The team needed him to step up because their primary target went down...and he did step up.
The guy is a capable WR and if we are going to sign the likes of Ty Law and Drew Bledsoe to try and win now (and say "To Hell With the Future") then we might as well get him in here. He would be a good insurance policy in case one of our other old WR's goes down at any rate.

if morgan is our 3rd WR - we're in trouble.
all that speed might actually amount to something if he ran better routes and could catch.
